It is now known why the Russians would not declare war on Japan until well late into the conflict. Obtained in never before disclosed "secret" data, the reasons behind this decision is now public knowledge.

The Russian military had received Japanese data on the Ki-84 series planes and knew that nothing the Russian air forces had that could defeat them. It was then decided not to enter the war until there was no hope that the Japanese military would be able to field but a very few of these phenomenal planes. Having read about the performance of these aircraft in Japanese documentation, the same documentation that is now used for some flight sim modeling, it was felt it was best to avoid conflict with these great planes.

I don't think that a few Ki-84's would have put them off that much.

You should have a quick peek at the "Uber" plane thread stickied at the top of the board...

I don't have a problem with the Ki-84, as I have found it's weakness... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
