Hi All;

Administrators, for the past couple of weeks or more I've been having a terrible time logging in. At first forums simply will NOT keep me logged in, yet over time it is now to a point where I'm lucky if I can even log in let alone post as my time will expire forcing me to re-login losing the post. To post this if it goes has taken me numerous (over 30) attempts to login.

Any suggestions?

(am using IE6, and have tried dropping all firewalls, anti spyware & anti virus.....In kind I'm not having this problem with any other website)

p.s.s......I also try the clearing files and cookies methods wich is successful in removing them but not fixing the login problem.....

From random polls on HL it "seems" focussed toward U.S. IP's....however random there as well

What has been happening to me is that I type my login name and password, and the screen just sits there and I could not get it.

I deleted cookies and temp internet files, closed the browser, reopened and logged in and now it is working properly.

Thank god for this thread http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif

I thought it me who couldn't stay logged in because of a virus or something - Done so many AV/Spyware checks that I don't even go to bed now (last time was 1958 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) but this morning I noticed I couldn't log in at all using MSN, but I could with Firefox - still not staying logged in though when I come back online http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I'been having precisely the same problem recently, and came up with precisely the same solution http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

On a sidenote, this "when something's wrong with the browser, try killing all cookies and cache files" rule has so far solved several different browser oddities for me. It's worth mentioning that the first hint I ever had about it was from MS Knowledge Base itself, of all places (IE here) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif At that time, browser links to .wmv video files wouldn't play on Windows Media Player, while the downloaded .wmv files would play fine. MSKB advised to erase the cache files, and that fixed it for me... until next time, apparently it's something that needs to be repeated once in a while. I bet MS calls that 'user management and maintenance of temporary files' or something of that sort http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Cheers,
S.

P.S.: In IE, the deleting options for temporary files are found in the 'Tools/Internet Options' menu, 'General' tab.

Same bloody prob here with Firefox since about a week..that means that i can login without much difficulties but i have to do it always again when i go online and visit the forum, and due to the fact that i am a lazy guy i don´t like that at all http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Some people complained about that prob 1-2 weeks ago in the german forum also...afaik a reaction of any officials still didn´t happen...

It's not a browser issue, it's a cookie issue. Anyone who's been logged out in the last couple of weeks can no longer get a working "Remember me" cookie when logging back in. Tech support are notified and working on it.

This all started when I had to login (Even though I was already logged in) to buy the recent addon!

I have no login problems on any other forums, why is it there are always login issues with Ubi's... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Holy wah! Thought it was just me too...

Funny thing is, as soon as I downloaded the PE-2 add on I couldn't login at all, then, as soon as I installed it I could login. I'm sure it was just coincidence but I had my tinfoil hat ready just in case!

This is the most popular variant (the triangular shape is said to be most effective) although the standard skullcap variant is still used.

And here's how to make your own.

Yes Ivan you did hon, but after 24hours of not being able to get on and finally doing so yet having seen nothing on it....I thought I'd make a post to make others aware and see if there could be an official "puplic" statement to put some minds to rest.

The cause of the problem is now identified. Work continues to fix it in a manner such that it doesn't recur.

Same here, same with the Italian site (actually started earlier), and same to some extent with SimHQ too. They all use the same software. Or is it one of the recent IE/Win system security patch maybe?
