I think we should take that picture and compare it to every female game character thats modern, say Lara Croft, bet ull find similiarities there too.

While I agree that a lot of characters tend to have similar models,
the similarities between these specific two are...incredibly close. Much closer than these things normally get.

I switch threads and find you making yet another horrific comparison. Ubi has completely messed with the characters in Conviction, and therefore we have a right to see just how much Ubi took from other games. It's exactly what MW2 did, they looked at what worked for the masses in other games/movies (namely The Rock) and clearly ripped it off, and Ubi could easily be doing the same to reinvent the characters in SC:C.

I was thinking Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark, but that is REALLY similar to Grim. If I recall Grim was a dirt blonde, not a red head. What did they do to her http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif I don't want a Joanna Dark rip I want Grim

It's a familiar cleche, and since this dev team doesn't seem too eager to provide real characterization, I'm not surprized.

It sounds like a certain someone is in denial that Grim's character has been sold out.

By modern, you mean a slim (and very purdy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif ) bimbo with an attitude, right? Well Grim was never "modern", so you're unwittingly showing the team's lack of originality in the game industry.

Well, at least they didn't give her gigantic breasts or a huge, jiggling butt. I guess that counts for something.

Really? Come on. This is a ridiculous thread. Someone is reading WAY too much into Grim's character design.

Grim went from being a business suit-wearing computer hacker techie to what would appear to be a fierce secret agent with a bad attitude...how else are you gonna interpret her look???

I think the point to this thread is very valid, as we are discussing whether the devs are succombing to cleche female stereotypes in their design of the new Grim. Unless you can point out something unique and interesting about her new look that distinguishes her from other "bad-arse chicks" in video-gaming (Perfect Dark, Lara Croft, Borderlands, ALIAS, etc.), then I would argue that they sold out her unique characterization of a smart government intelligence agent in order to boost her sex appeal and give the game some cleche female "hero"-type.
