I have heard a lot of hullabaloo about v1.11, and as a 1.0 user, what i want to know is:

From all aspects, but mainly offline (since i'll have to have it to play online anyway) is 1.11 a better game than 1.0? Do the campaigns run a little better? If they are still flawed, that's ok, but is it an improvement?

I have to say i fly a lot of VVS, mainly the IL2 and Yak-1B, 9 and La5. However, I also like the early 109s and 190s. How do these perform compared with 1.0?

I still think the original IL2 is better.

1.11 has some improvements but certain fms climbrates, weapons effectiveness, damage models seems screwy. Theres also some nice effects your missing out on in 1.0.

Hey rbj just wondering how are you doing in the k4, havent seen one person flying one in more then 5 days nothing but la7s yaks few bold g6 pilots and the 190 people

Offline play has been improved in 1.11 compared to 1.0.. There's been quite a number of fixes, and you have some new nice parameters to control the amount of activity you will encounter.

You are still better out playing the campaign as wing leader since the old wingie probs are still there, mainly:

1) You still don't have a clue to what messages are for you (with increased air activity this can be a problem)

2) If you leader dies, and there are other wingies after you (say you're number 2 of 4), the wingies will form on you but you can't command them. This gets fun, for example, when you try to land. But also having a bunch of dummies around in a combat can be fun.

3) You still don't have a clue where your leader is after a furball.. Sometimes they tell you how to rejoin when they yell at you, sometimes they don't. Please note that the vector they give you is inverted, e.g. if they say "stay on leader course, vector 270" then you really need to go 90.

I repeat, most of these issues are annoying only if you start out as a Lt. (/Kersantti/whatever), but I'd like to see them fixed someday.
