Before the flaming starts, bear with me on this. If you are a console player, move on - nothing to see here. Don't attempt to de-rail or hijack this thread please http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'd be interested to hear from those of you who play AC on the PC and what your PC specs are. In particular, I'm looking for what Graphics Cards you have, CPU's, Motherboards, sound cards, RAM and PSU's too if you know. We can tell you how to find out what you have if you don't know but would like to contribute to the thread.

Do you have a high end gaming PC?
Do you have a PC that copes OK with AC?
Does your PC struggle to run AC?

Why am I asking? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

... Well, it should be fairly obvious given what is just beyond the horizon. I'm trying to get an idea of the 'average' PC of the AC Player - This will be fed back to Ubi and hopefully we'll get an idea of what level of PC spec will be required to run AC2.

Thanks for your co-operation http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Only right I start us off. If you could follow a similar format I would be grateful http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My gaming PC:

ASUS P5-K Premium Motherboard
Intel Quad Q6600 (Arctic Cooling fan cooled)
8800GTS 640mb Graphics Card
X-FI Extreme Gamer Sound Card
2 gb OCZ PC 8500 Reaper RAM (2x1 gb Slots)
Hiper 530watt PSU

At which point did you decide you might flame this? When you read the thread title?

Besides, Ubi want to know what we got in our PC's. I expect your full co-operation http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

We're not trying to catch any one out - Only want to know the fundamental hardware Cas, that's all.

Put it this way, if we tell Ubi, I have it on good authority we might well find out what hardware is being used to develop and test AC2

*But you never heard that from me, OK?*

wait isnt this kinda useless cause whenever Onlive comes out all need for powerful gaming desktops (for gamers) will be over? lol w/e

My specs:
Biostar n750
AMD 64 X2 5400+ Dual Core(normally 2.8 ghz,over clocked to 3.2ghz) Zalman Fan Cooled
Nvidia GTX 260 graphics card (overclocked)
Mother Board Intergrated 7.1 Surround Sound Card
4gb xms ddr2 8500 (2x2gb slots)

It ripped up AC1 without a single hicup

onlive is a joke, at launch it is only going to be in america and so far it has only been tried on internal networks using about 300mbs-1gbs, probly over 90% of internet connections will be totaly useless for onlive.

Couldn't agree more with you, Cas.

This thread is intended to give Atmon and the AC2 developers a glimpse of the specs of current PC rigs of the community that are awaiting AC2.

I've seen various Ubi title launches and the inevitable 'This game sux!' / 'This game is so buggy' rants,as I'm sure many of us have seen.

Often, as many of us know, when you delve a little deeper, quite often it's the players PC that isn't up to the job and not the game itself at fault.

Whilst it's not comprehensive by any means, neither will it ever be, hopefully this thread will go some way in allowing Atmon understand the spec people have and to feed that back http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well I cannot give the full specs now since I am at work, but here is the basic info on my rig-

3 gigs of RAM
9800GTX video card
intel duo core 3.0 ghz processor

The only game I am unable to run at full max settings is Crysis (but I am damn close to the max)

Otherwise I can pretty much run all games maxed out.

I also game with my PC hooked up to my 42 inch TV which is sweet.

My computer is so horrible, I can't even play Assassin's Creed on it XD

When I want to play it at all, I have to steal my brother's laptop to play it. I don't know the specs, but it plays okay. Everything is about the highest, with some of the things being 3 or 2.

I really want to get a new computer so I can play this and the new game when it comes out, but I doubt my parents will buy me one... *Sigh*

That is the plan for Splinter Cell Conviction, which is releasing in the same quarter so it may well be the case for AC2.

Man I hope so. I can't wait for the new Splinter Cell game since I didn't really dig the last one.

Hi guys

Here it goes:

-Motherboard : ASUS M3A78-T
-Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 8450 Triple-Core Processor, MMX, 3DNow (3 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
-Memory: 3328MB RAM
-Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
-Display Memory: 512.0 MB
-Operating System: Windows XP Professional

Do i have something wrong there or is it enough since i played first one on PS3 i dont know if this would handle AC1 or AC2.

I'm new to this forum. Recently finished Assassin's Creed [took only 3 days :P ]

But right after i finished the game, i searched for the 2nd version's details, the story carried me away! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Now, All i want to hear is "yes your pc can play AC2 "

Config is:

Runs Assassins Creed perfectly without a single bit of lag, very impressive. I am running it all high on 1440x900 resolution. But soon I'll buy a new HD monitor to play it on 1920x1080+ resolution http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

caswallawn_2k7
08-03-2009, 11:27 AM
your probly better off getting it for the PS3 as if you get a laptop with more than one GPU chances are you could get over heating problems more so if you live in a warm country as laptops tend to lack the air circulation needed to cool what is in them.

Intel q6600 2.4 quad retail
Asus x38 chipset main board.
BFG 8800 gtx oc2 768mb
onboard sound
4 gb 1066 ddr3 ram

I play the game at 1280 x 1024 all the pretties turned on and the game plays and looks fantastic. On a side note this machine i built in april of last year to play The Witcher and GTA4 which i knew were on the way. I waited to get the minumum and reccomended specs from the developers before i built this machine. In April of next year i will up grade to what ever is top of the line component wise that the best bang for the buck, after reviewing the specs for a few games in the pipe.

Runs AC1 smoothly, I bought it when there was a lot of rumors that SC2 was gonna come out soon, hehe. Now there's HDX18 I think; it's a quad-core, but a huge and heavy beast. I also draw vinyl designs in Illustrator, and have them cut at the copy center and stick them on my laptop B)

I am playing AC but its very slow, but a friend of mine with the same config is running the game with high settings and with full Anti Aliasing and is very smooth for him.
Even Fraps cant show me the fps I am getting. It makes a weird design.

My CPU config:

Intel MotherBoard DG31PR,
E8400 3.00 ghz Core 2 Duo Processor,
4 GB Ram,
Gigabyte 9800GT 1 GB DDR 3
Windows XP Service Pack 2

My friend has the same CPU but he has 512 MB version of the same card.

He does not even overclock his PC and he gets a very smooth game.

he's not actually under estimating them it is only a small minority that can actually cool them self well. before taking into account if you place a laptop on carpet or just about anything soft it will block 90% of the vents turning it into a oven.
