since the AI will always attack the nearest enemy target, this can create problems when designing missions...
a Battleship will fire all its guns at a submerged submarine... with no hope of damaging it...whilst ignoring much better targets (such as carriers) which are a bit further away

could ships be made not to fire main armament at silly targets... subs/parachutes

usually AI planes will not attack a target if they do not have the ability to damage/destroy it

I know ships damage is increased incrementally until they will sink.. such as destroyers attacked by AP rockets

perhaps submarines could be made to 'spawn' after a time-out instead of having to be there from mission start.... that would also be better if a submarine could change from surfaced to submerged according to waypoint options http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
