so i decided to try a little experiment with the QMB. I knew from the original IL2 that Me323s were really hard to kill with anything under 20mm. So, I wanted to see how long it would take with the Russian 7.62mm MGs, hence i took the I16 Type 18. For the success of the trial, i turned off limited ammo and vunerability so i could just sit behind the Me323 blasting it constantly. I set up the QMB, got behind behind the Me323 and started the timer as i pressed down on the trigger. Here were my results:

(constant firing of 4 7.62mm, mostly at the fuselage)

0:00 -> I started firing
1:03 -> First evidence of fuel leaking out of wing tanks
2:19 -> Black smoke out of left wing
2:27 -> Rudder comes off
3:29 -> Black smoke out of right wing
3:40 -> Engine on left wing lit on fire
3:41 -> Crew begins to bail, plane stays airborne
4:20 -> 2 engines on right wing ablaze
**more constant firing...no new effects**
5:48 -> Me323 goes into the ground as a result of engine failure and lack of pilots

(note during this experiement the only piece to detach from the plane was the rudder, the rest of 323 stayed intact)

those things are tough..... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Sounds like the makings of a new competition: Post your quickest Gigant kill.
