I am unable to install the 1.2 patch because the installer doesnâ´t recognize the en_menu.txt version...
I made no changes to the game except removing the "Paused" message (because of screenshots http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)
Is there a way to restore this file or should I reinstall the game?
BTW the search function on this forum sucks!

You could unedit it to default? Or replace it with the original file.

Why did you remove the pause text whehn numpad_del removes the whole 2D interface anyway?

Are you patched at 1.1? Do you have downloaded or DVD US version?(assuming you have US).

I can check if I have the original file backed up(i backed few files up, especially the ones i modify, so I replaced them before patching). I will message you or email you if you want later tonight if you still having the problem.

In last resort you can uninstall the game(just make sure all sh3 files are removed from under where game was installed(default under program files...) and also make sure there is no sh3 fodler under my documents(for your user). I would also recommend cleaning registry entries for sh3(if you are familiar with windows registry). Reinstallation will ensure all files are original version, however you would also lose your campaign progress.(there maybe way to keep them even then but I am not familiar).

There is. I had to uninstall for a similar reason. When running the uninstaller, it asked if I wanted to keep the user created saves. I clicked yes, and it removed the rest of the game files. Then I reinstalled, patched, and was able to continue my career without problems. One thing, if you've added anything to your gramophone folder, it will be erased in the uninstall. Make sure you copy them someplace else so you can move them back afterwards.

Yes, you can restore it, but the patch is very fussy about the accuracy...

Find the gap in the TXT file where you deleted the text, and type "GAME PAUSED" (without quotes) in the space. Note the all-caps... the patch will not accept "Game Paused" or any other variation.

Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I decided it was probably better to use the uninstall/install routine and now my game is patched to 1.2 version. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I had the same problem due to having made some changes in the Command_en.cfg & Command_de.cfg files.

What I did was to cut the files out then run the patch then paste them back in again. Worked a treat.

I had this problem, because I decided to un-install and re-install to make it nice and clean...

I simply deleted the files that it was moaning about, and as if like magic the patch installer puts them back http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've read about a few people doing just that, deleting the "problem" files as a workaround, but how can you be sure that the patch doesn't want to change something in those files, and can't, leaving you with a semi-patched game?

hehe I read what the files were, they were keyboard help files in german and english http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif not of terrible use to me anyway even if it did corrupt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
