When I ALT+TAB to another application then ALT+TAB back to IL-2 1946 (Latest version), it always terminates immediately. Anyone else having this problem?

Windows XP SP2 and ALL updates.
Pentium 4 3.2 ghz

My memory is that alt+tabbing around is not recommended

I think it's something with your system. Post in the community help forum and see if we can sort it out. I've been alt+tabing for years on several different pc's, no problems (unless you count that old ATI distorted desktop thing awhile back, lol).

Usually, not being able to Alt-Tab out is either a game issue (and they normally warn you--it's common for games that are console ports) or a video driver issue. Since I Alt-Tab out all the time I'm betting it has something to do with your vid card drivers.

OK. The problem seems to have been solved, at least for on-line play. I downloaded a new video driver for my NDidia 6800. It still dies when I try it from a stand-alone game, but now I can ALT+TAB back and fourth while in an on-line game. Go figure?????

Thanks all.

Glad that it was fixed for online gaming at least. I always use CONTROL ESC instead of alt tab

another thing to try is to run il-2 setup and change your game from fullscreen to windowed mode. once the game is running in windowed mode, try to alt + tab then.
