Of significant relevance the 60th Anniversary Airfix 617 Squadron kit, a 1/72 Lancaster B/III Special and a 1/48 Tornado Gr.4/4a. Haven't done a plaggy plane kit in a while so an intrigueing pressie, for sure. Also Hobsawns "Age of Extremes: The Short Twentieth Century, 1914-1991." Will be getting a dog in the new year, my first as an adult, very looking forward to that.

I got some clothes, some books (one is a book examining the issue of Sikorski's assassination over Gibraltar, which is quite interesting...), I also got 500 smackers from my grandma and godfather which is nice cash money to have.

But I think the most important thing is love... Sounds cliche, but a lot of people take it for granted until they are without it, so I consider myself very fortunate.

On a related note, maybe there were too much time spent on the dinner table.

Someone went to the bathroom to poop and clogged up the toilet but flushed it anyway like a billion times and it overflowed and s#it-water got all over the place in into our A/C vents and now the heat just came on and the whole house smells like s#it. At least whoever it was takes their Metamucil.

Merry Christmas!

A 7&1/4" 2.5 hp Skilsaw and a 2 gallon easy tote air compressor for my wood working. Which comes in handy since No.1 daughter and her guy both got German Shorthair retrievers but don't own a doghouse.

Flying Aces....Aviation Art OF WWII. Man I wish I could paint or sketch that well but even my stick people look goofy. Some of the full page prints look so good I'm tempted to take the 1st 2 pressies and make some frames for the 3rd one but the girls would murder me if I did.

A bloody $hitload of boxers! Bloody satin ones...absolute stackloads...must be cos I'm so full of cr@p http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Got me some wide angle Binoculars, box of roses, $60, The Essential Michael Jackson (last time I'm joking to my mum!), and a couple beaut books: Tobruk 1941, and Warbirds of WWII, very nicely illustrated. Plus it's got Hudsons in it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Oh and my brother got me a tshirt.

In the ABC Giftshop I saw the Kokoda DVD, the actual fair dinkum footage shot by Damien Parer (http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif) and overword by Peter Fitzsimons. I got a 1/48 scale B-17G model that I'll start building tomorrow, and a giant "The Complete Book of World War II Combat Aircraft"

And that's it. I asked that any money that would have been spent on gifts for me be instead spent on the children in the family, but I guess my parents couldn't not get their son a gift for Christmas. So my father got me something anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif He knew just the kind of things I'd enjoy too.

Oh, I also got to cook a wonderful prime rib dinner for the family. Real "prime" too not "choice" like "prime rib" from most restaurants.

Worth more than money or gold Jumo... trust me. All my family's gone now and memories, pictures and love's all that's left you. My childhood wasn't "storybook" by any means but you see through the eyes of love and rmeemberance and you miss those days and the people in them. Glad you got to spend "one more" all together.

My family can't tell a difference between a ETO and PTO, so this year they decided not to take a risk and NOT to buy a typical WWII history/aviation book, because they probably wouldn't buy the one about PTO anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.
So it was a helluva surprise for me when I unpacked Janis Joplin's biography! ("Buried Alive" by Myra Friedman). It's good they know I like the '60s music.
I'm pleased with it. Something for a change from usual "Wrrrrrum... tatatatata!" book theme http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

- 5 new 1/18 scale 60's Muscle Cars (well, 4 of them I bought myself) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

- I'll also be buying myself a new Bass guitar and amp after the new year's sales start or if I can find a good used one.

I've been playing drums for 30 years (main instrument), keyboards for about 15 years (partially read music, mostly by ear) and now I'm ready to learn the bass.

Of course, it shall be a left-handed bass, as I'm sick of playing my band m8s right-handed basses all these years and it's time I learned properly and in my natural hand position.

(Unlike my being a right-handed drummer because of a bad first teacher who changed my hands instead of turning my drum kit around.)

Alas, there is no going back to left-handed drumming these days, as my right foot is a bass drum monster and I do not think my hi-hat foot is up to the challenge, lol. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

- Leather jacket from wife

- My favorite NFL team mug with pewter helmet emblem

You must be talking about these guys.....

Yeah, yeah, they got two from us this year. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

It seems it has been a season of turning the tables as Da Boyz also swept a team they have had mucho trouble with over the past several years, those hated Eagles. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

And with one week in the season left, Dallas needs a loss from another team and it's own win to back into the playoffs. Hmmm, come to think of it, even if they get in or the crapskins do, heck even the Giants, I'm thinking all 3 will still end up being one of the losing teams this year.

Although, getting to the "Sweet 12" is at least getting a chance at a cinderella run to the Super Bowl.
