Today I saw the first (probably Annual) Russell Group Airshow. The Russell Group owns 4 WWII birds. A Spitfire LF.IX, Hurricane Mark IV/XII (Canadian built), Messerchmit Bf.109E-4, and a Havard.

The Bf.109 is the only flying example of a 109E in the world...or rather the only one with the real Diamler Benz engine. It was unbelievable...but so was the Hurricane and Spitfire.

Have a look!

They also had the Brantford Ontario WWI replica flying group there with a few WWI bi-planes. I have a few pics I'll post of those later.

Very cool pics. Thanks for posting them! I wanted to go but I had a flight booked in the Beech 18 at the CWH in Hamilton so I could not make it.

THe spit was 20 ft from me, spooled up and waited while the hurricane (40 ft from me) spooled up. waited.

The 109 started up and she was about 100ft away.

The 109 totally drowned out the sound of the spit and the hurricane.

The spit was like a finely tuned racer. The 109 was brute force.

Awesome.
