While rereading William Shirer's "Rise and fall of the Third Reich", I came accross an order by Hitler on May 21, 1943 that, among other things, captured pilots who had machine gunned German aircraft making emergency landings would be shot without court martial (p.1244). Pretty much a non-vulching order. Just thought this was kinda funny, although sad that it actually happened.

I guess, like most anti-vulchers, Hitler was a sore looser

It was probably airmen that thought up that idea, not Hitler.

I doubt that. Fellow airmen were notoriously civil toward one another outside of their AC, Remember, by 1943 the LW didn't have much of a chance to vulch anyone else. But in the BoB they made an artform out of the practice

all sides vulched look at germany and russia, germany destroyed more then 5000 i16s i153s mig3s on the ground when invading russia.

all sides killed bailed pilots, straffed enemy planes on the ground, used collision tactics it was war.

Vulching really called strafing should be a part of the game if theres more then one runway to spawn at. It defeats the purpose of bombs and rockets in no vulch servers, and most these people come from cfs2 who whine about vulching.

One of the best things about vulching is chasing the vulcher home and shooting him down before he can land all fat, dumb and happy.

Although, I must admit, there's nothing like the rush of bombing a plane that's rolling down the runway as you drop it some distance in front of him, with a 2 secs or so fuse.

It's the anticipation that always gets me.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
