Well, after cruising the net through various Luftwaffe-related links for must have been 2 hours (very lazy Saturday morning), I stumbled across this INCREDIBLE site dealing with all aspects of the German Night Fighter arm.

http://www.baermann.biz/pauke/

This is one of the most well-designed and complete WWII aviation sites I've ever seen. Biographies, aircraft info, technology, unit histories, camo schemes, radar specs.......something for everyone! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

A well known site that was down for a while.

There are some signifigant errors however, for example this page

http://www.baermann.biz/pauke/aircraft/he111.html

is almost pure fantasy. The last I knew this plane was not a night fighter but merely used for the training of Radar operators.

Not nearly an expert on this subject... but:

According toManfred Griehl in "Nightfighters over the Reich",Greenhill Books, London) no more than six a/c were specially modified, and three of them went to the Eastern front for training.

Exactly, used for training however the website link I posted then goes on to state that the He-111 also had 4 20 mm cannons mounted fixed forward. I think this is the erroneous information. I would like it if there were a version that was used with 4 20mm cannons like the statement. But who really knows anymore!?

So, it looks as if my pages don' have so "significant errors". ;-)
Anyhow you're invited to contribute with my website if you want to share news, information, anything about Nachtjagd.
I'm right now producing a special section dedicated to IL-2 because I consider it to be the BEST simulator ever; therefore I'm producing some Nachtjagd Missions and Skins for free downloading in my site. By February you shoud see something.
Pauke, Pauke!

Pardon me, but where was it shown that the He-111 had 4 20mm cannons firing forward?

I should really consider posting topics more often. I seem to be attracting celebrities! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
