Salute to all! I've just landed and I thought I'd tell you how great time I had in PF http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
At first I joined in dogfight server, but there were only me and the host. I chose to be axis, and my first ride was a Zero. (surprise surprise.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ) The host flew a Wildcat, and nope, he wasn't able to outturn me. I got in his six and got him with a few well aimed cannon hits. The host acted very chivalrously all the time which in my opinion is essential, if you want to have fun.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
After that I wanted to try the Ki-43, and da** that plane is fun to fly! It's fun because it's just so darn slow, all you have is two miserable MG's, and the gunsight, well you have to see it yourself! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
The host flew an Airacobra and I had one of the greatest time ever online, due to the very tough fights we had trying to get to each others six, with every possible trick that came to our minds.. After I finally got into his six, (because the vicious stall charecteristic of the P-39), I shot my last MG rounds with a terrible grin on my face to his plane and BOOM he went to the flames and even bigger 2xBOOM!! when my plane exploded due to his exlposion.. I was literally LMAO! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
During the session we both had nice conversations of the planes of PF and etc.. The host was a real gentleman, so everything went good!
Then I joined on another PF server, which run a Guadalcanal map, I noticed another Finnish pilot on the Axis, and so I joined the Japanese again. We both chose Vals, and decided to sink the remaining ships with a good old bombruns. I was just closing him to join his wing when I noticed a Wildcat(or a Hellcat) in my 10 o'clock. It flew to my six, I manned the reargunner and shoot many rounds to him, but he still continued closing me, he opened fire with a great accuracy which caused me to lose controls over ailerons and elevators.. Nice.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif The flight leader asked me if I could continue to the target,I said he** yeah, I have only a rudder, and my engine is smoking bad, both of us(tailgunner and pilot) was half dead. And after I informed that, the fuel ran out. Everything went perfect. So I decided to do a forced landing. (who wouldn't like challenges eh?) Much to my surprise I found myself nicely closing the ground using rudder and flaps and immediately after touchdown I remembered: the bombs are still with me!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
Then my heartbeat went up to about 300bpm, as I skid through the idyllic mountain scenery of Guadalcanal.. But the bombs just didn't explode! I consider myself pretty lucky guy.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif When the plane stopped I just sat about a minute hand still on the joystick thinking, what the heck just happened!? I was nicely landed on a field, right wing cut half, almost everything broke up, but still alive!
This was pretty unbeliavable, but so friggin' marvelous!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
After these sessions I thought what was different in those flights? And I realised; everyone acted very chivalrously through the sessions. So I want to encourage all you fellow pilots in this community to be gentlemans, and to remember the chivalry! The online sessions are so much funnier that way!
Cheers!
