Funny how they are doing a spot on the Heavy Metal series about the Mosquito.

No kidding, but even with all the History channel snafu's and inaccuracies, it should be a good show. I'll watch it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Well, if you really dig into it, and compare it whith the circumstances, well, it might have been the most versatile, I mean, stealth and speed, already 60 years ago! Fighter, nightfighter, bomber, pathfinder, naval attack, ground attack, Reconnaissance... well, okay as far as I know it never went nuclear.... so....

well look at an f-18, it can attack about anything that moves, all in one variant while i doubt any 1 version of the mosquito can do all those things

mossie fb.6 was most versitle, i dont think recon cameras and guns where carried, but thats normal on pr planes. mossies produced the best pr too due to 2nd crew man, who did a bomber run style for photo taking. better results than spits and p38s i guess.

the full impact of mossie would not be truely released untill u ask the question
"what would we do without it"

ntesla, could u send me a copy or something, or upload it to my webspace (for personal viewing only, ofcourse), i live in the uk http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

You might have to consider adding the Ju-88/Ju-188 series to the versatile list!
