Just look at this thing! It was flying in 41-42, but what would you do with it? At least it would use up two more of the eight possible engines listed in the CEM.

Here's where the info came from, looks like a good site for unusual planes.

Cheers.

Then a powerful demon, a prowler through the dark,
nursed a hard grievance.

Perhaps they've got the stairs in them, how else are you going to get on board? Even down by the tail it's over head height from the ground!

What was the name of the TB3 looking plane that flew propaganda missions over Russia? It was huge, you could sleep in the wings, it had 6 engines on the wings and 2 mounted up top. It crashed when an unauthorized loop by an I-5 went wrong and it slamed into the wing.

Take a look to the sky just before you die. Its the last time you will!

ANT-20 Maxim Gorky

I wish someone would model it...

Actually the plane in the picture at the top is the ANT-20bis, based on the origonal Gorky only with out the two top engines on the fusalage. I wish someone would model it as well. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

-- Good grief! Must have been one hell of a sight.

Caused immense interest when flown around Stalingrad city autumn 1933, before the November Crash. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

First flight 11 August, 1933 (my birthday)

Speed:: 225km/hr
Ceiling:: 4km
Range:: 1600km

Another weird bomber from Kalinin (K~12 1936) ---> http://www.aeroplan.kgb.cz/other/k12.htm

Slow, difficult handling, perhaps too early in concept. Made into spectacular air show plane with the bright red/yellow feathers as pictured. Check out cute tail turret.
