"By November 1944 the Natter was ready to begin flight tests, initilayy as an unpowered glider. A prototype was ballasted to a weight of 3750-pounds, representative of the fighter in the climb after the booster rockets had been jettisoned. A Heinkel He111 bomber took the aircraft to 18000-ft and released it with Flugkapitaen Zueber at the controls. The pilot found that the planes heavy wing loading of 74-pounds per square foot made it extremely stable in flight. Decending at a steep angle Zueber found the controls crisp and effective throughout the speed between 435-mph and 125-mph. As the aircraft passed through 3000-ft the pilot initiated the escape procedure and both he and the aircraft completed the decent by parachute..."

The Natter would be a cool plane to fly.
