imagine you are writting, leave the pen and it stays vertical on the table

very simple you have an inverted tube put a heavy free piston inside and make vacuum inside the tube

when the inverted tube is vertical the piston has a potential energy of 1 cm

but when you lean it 60º the along the tube force of the piston will be half(sin30º) so the vacuum will pull the piston up and the piston will have gain potential energy raising maybe 5 cm

its widely known that potential energy tends to be spent and if when the pen leaned the piston has a potential energy of 4 cm and when vertical of 1 cm being the weight of the tube despicable the pen will tend to remain vertical

anything wrong with this idea?

if right do as you will with it im too lazy to carry on with it and no interested on money

Good idea.

Could blast pens in jars out of the water.

or how about putting magnets in your ceiling and a iron cap on the pen?

I always thought tubes were despicable too

Hey, inserting a piston and a despicable tube inside a pen*s implant may be a better solution than Viagra! But a potential energy of 4cm may be a bit short, though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif 'Thepenswhichalwaysstandsup' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What's an inverted tube?

What if you invert an inverted tube? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Can I have a pic with the design?

Of course, the first model is four meters long, weighs 130 kg and costs only 30000$. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Since gravity still works on my world, no contained system can oppose gravity, the entire pen will still fall.

You can't pull yourself up off of the floor by your bootstraps either....

Now, if you fill it with helium....at it's light enough....and someone actually WANTED such a thing ( I like my pens to lay down when I set them down....)

Stick a gyroscope with magnetic bearings in a vacuum on the end of your pen. You'll have a great executive toy.

it seems to go against gravity but doesnt as when it goes from leaned to vertical the piston lowers and if it goes from vertical to leaned it resists since it has to raise the weight of piston made of plumb much heavier than plastic

done already...........

You could push it up your nose Raid, then a slight sneeze and it will drop nicely into your hand..pop your underwear on your head at the same time to keep your brain warm as well....... Here you go Raid, try this link

"Some people feel sick when they play any 3D games; others get touched off by one or another game in particular. If you played every 3D game that ever there was, you'd probably manage to find a few others that made you feel woozy.

This problem's most likely to be caused by your cranial firmware. It might be curable with a mere OS update (be careful you don't accidentally install a peculiar religion while you're changing your fundamental beliefs). But if it's fixable at all on your model of brain, you'll probably need to update your BIOS. Since humans more than five years old aren't likely to have a flashable brain-BIOS, you'll have to replace the physical chip. Updating a socketed brain-BIOS is a pretty simple procedure. But you may want to put some newspaper down first."

Hope this helps,
