View Full Version : HOW COOL WOULD THIS BE !?

I just had an idea about what I think would be a SERIOUS addition to this sim...

How cool woult it be, I ask, if we could have a TRAINER aircraft like for example the T-6!?

I think that would be seriously good !!! If we could have a propper two-seater trainer aircraft where a new pilot and his trainer could fly (dual controls) imagine how realistic your training missions would be! Newcomers could get "hands-on" training and if something goes wrong ... "instructor" takes over the controls!

Well yeah, crashing isn't a big deal in a sim as you can always restart but somehow I feel this would add another dimension to sim world!

Ya, there's so many incredibley high preformance planes FB that it would be nice to have a plane for the newbies to make the next step in..we'd also need a decen traing section...the planes always crash halfway through the training tracks!!!

Primary trainer is needed even more. Po~2 and Fiesler Stroch would be perfect for these roles. Just need simple cockpits for them as they are already in the game as AI.

I recommend P11c as a good trainer. And its just fun to putter around in especially in the deep valleys in the south east Kuban map. Its kinda bumpy landing it off airfield though, IL~2 is good too for that. Best is probably TB~3. Flies and almost lands by itself it does.

Now this is one of the best ideas I've seen in a while! New recruits could be certified and helped to polish there skills. All it needs is a hot key for the instructor to take over, COOL! You should post this over at the ready room! I know I could use the help!!!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I don't think it would be ever added but having the plane on the ground in front of a bullseye target to align the guns properly, all we have is convergence now. X

I would love to see many trainer aircraft and having a section of all novice and expert flight manuevers the aircrafts can perform and a ai flight officer to evaluate the effientness of the manuevers to teach people how to fly better.

Lets go farther!!! How about copilot for those long bomber runs? Can double as gunner!

This has been suggested many times in the past. Oleg responded to it by saying it was very difficult, if not impossible to do in the code, and he would not do it. Sorry!

I'd never join a club that would have ME as a member!!.

Good idea but most likely impossible - however I have at times set up "flight school" games at HL that were quite popular - people could simply fly around (no bullits fired), ask questions & exchange experience. But a trainer would be something of it's own. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I would like to see the trainer bit taken a step further so you can learn deflection shooting, cross country map reading and basic instrumentation usage.I would like to have seen a way of running your mouse over the cockpit instruments and it tell you what they are and how to use them.I for one can't read russian or german,i know it's in the manual but it's sometimes easier to see them working than to pick up a manual.

yeah...surelly it's not easy to implement something like this but sure IS possible... and I think it would really add to realism especially in online squadron training missions. Anyway... I hope one day we might just get this /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Not in this sim. As Elem mentioned, Oleg has commented on this when it was posted in Oleg's Ready Room some time ago. Apparently it can't be done without re-writing the netcode from the ground up. 1C:Maddox are not prepared to do that for this game when they're already working on the next.

On a coolness scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this at about a 2.

How cool is it to learn how to drive a car? Not very cool. It's not like this game is hard. You just gas it and go. Don't need grandma riding shotgun.
