Hi all, time to go and earn a living again, workin' for The Man, so I won't be posting again for a bit. I am quite fortunate really, I love my job driving trucks (long distance), I like being home with the family, and I like hanging round on this forum too as well as playing SH3. I can't lose. However, I can really only do one of these at a time! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

"copy southbound?"
"roger"
"unmarked white one in the middle at Gundagai - Money Tree shooting southbounders"
"ta, thanks for that, there is a marked one doing the job on a little one at Governers Hill but other than that you're clear back to town, the weighbridge on your side is camera only"
"roger, have a good night"

Some of you may not recognize the photo that I posted of the Truck Driver and the Monkey...its a "great" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif piece of American Culture and I don't know if the show was televised outside of the US.

It was truly a silly show about a young truck driver "BJ" (I won't go into any detail why he was called "BJ" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif) and his sidekick traveling companion, The Bear (the chimp in the picture), which I think was an ode to a legendary college football coach at the University of Alabama, Paul "Bear" Bryant. The show was on about the same time David Hasselhof (all hail his name! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif) got his start on the TV show "Knight Rider"

more here:

I can only imagine if this WAS dubbed in German for German TV, almost as bad as "Hogans Heroes"

Now if we could only mod SHIII so we could have our own Chimp on the Bridge along with the rest of the crew...something tells me a Chimp would make a great Flak Gunner!

I used to watch "BJ and the Bear" when I was younger and hadn't yet matured my cultural tastebuds. Didn't it also star Claude Akins? There's a guy who had some career twists. He ended up being the lead gorilla in "Planet of the Apes." My favourite line of his from that film: "The only good human is a dead human." He also played a buffoonish [American] character in "The Devil's Brigade." There's a funny scene in that one where a Canadian hand-to-hand combat instructor "teaches him some manners."

Get yourself a spring PCS network card and you will get an aver of 100kbps connection which is ok for getting msg boards and dling patching and such. TA, and Flying J have excelent Wifi connection which are T1's Latency is pretty low in some locations so I can get in on my FPS action.

So just becouse you are going longhual does not mean you will not be able to get online. I have been doing it for the past few years just fine. Only problem is trying to find enough time to play in those 14 hour work days.
