View Full Version : Viewable player-captured screens and videos, a possability for Assassin's creed?

With recent games like Skate and Halo 3 having the ability to take screens and small video's in game and then letting other players view them online or through the game itself this is something that I have really gotten into it.

I wonder if perhaps something like this might be possible with AC?

Imagine all the neat things that might happen in the game, like the latest movie that shows the Altair grabbing the guy then the archer hitting him with the arrow instead. Now imagine if you could take screens/small video clips and then upload them to the Assassin's creed community site or such and show them off to other people.

I would LOVE to see this and know I'd make use of it. It just kind of gives a great way to open the community more when the game is out.

Plus for those that might not get the game the first day, it will sure make the wait a bit easier being able to see screens/video's that other people take while you bide your time.

That's a great idea! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Though I'm not really sure how it would be incorporated into the game at this late stage, but it sure would be fun!

Yeah, awesome idea! I would love such a feature! Haven't heard anything about it, so doubt it's possible. But now that you mentioned it, I'm really hoping for it!

Jade Raymond said something about being able to share what you've done over xbox live, this was mentioned at X06 during the first time they played the game live for an audience http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It could be implemented to make sense, considering a lot of the sci-fi stuff that comes up says that's it's actually recording you, but story-wise it wouldn't really fit. IIRC, Patrice/Jade said the game was one fluid story from beginning to end, meaning everything in the game made sense (even the pause and death screens). This is way I'm guess that you cannot free-roam after the game and you can't do things like record video for play-back. It would simply break the story immersion. =/

Cool idea, nonetheless. Although, considering how much is already jammed into their game engine, this feature might make it explode? Haha. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Well, it doesn't really need to fit with the storyline? I mean I fail to see how that would "break" your storyline, if you didn't want to see it or use it you wouldn't have to.

I just think it'd be nice to be able to get a screenshot or small video when you do something cool/unique and would like to show other people. This is something that consoles are finely starting to realize/be able to do easily for the avg gamer and I think AC would be a great game to allow it.

It is too late probably if nothing lilke that is in, however I could see it being something they could perhaps patch in later or such for the marketplace, or have for AC2.

no way they can fit that + the game onto a dvd

Err, what? What makes you think it'd take up much space? we are merely talking about a screencapture ability and/or a small video recorder that could upload small clips to the web or even like Halo 3, where it merely uses the assets of the game itself to recreate the video and thus taking up much less space.

Even then, this would obviously make use of the hard drive space for storing and such, you don't use the disc for that...

i know it dont use the disc to store the screencaps. but they kinda already have more stuff the the dvd can handle with all the languages and all.

it would be great if they did have it tho,.,.,. they could have it as an download or something.

ya... maybe for sequels?

A screecap program wouldn't take up much space at all, we are talking about maybe <1mb of data that it might use.
