About a week ago I downloaded Wings Over Israel from Thirdwire's fine site. Its great to be able to come home to a new sim. It is a great little sim that has evolved over the years. If your last experience with it was Strike Fighters... Please! It has really improved. At any rate, it got me reading my "Arab Israeli Air Wars, 1947-82" It is an Osprey Combat Series book. Good read. I found out that combat took place between Spitfires, Mustangs and other WWII types. I wound up building a few missions. I thought I would fly for the IAF but wound up instead as a defender of the Royal Egyptian Air Force. This happened because of one Aircraft. Enter Macchi. I remember a long time ago trying the MC 202 and not being impressed. However, the 205 is the Bees Knees. It takes on Mustangs and Spits (this is all offline of course) with ease. Firepower is Great but best used UP CLOSE. I had a great time with this kite then moved on to the Beaufighter. I beat up the Egyptian airfield for quite a LONG time before I ran out of rockets and ammo. I even took a few hits from the defenders but the Beau proved to be tough. Anyway, I thought I would share some images.

Special thanks to the skinners who made this possible. eaf92 Keets, vp media, Harpia Mafra 55, IAF 101~SchniX, hotbox1, and any other I may have missed.
Go to Flying-Legends.net to download thier excellent work.

The Outstanding MC205 in Egyptian colors.

Beaufighters are cool, even if I use them as aerial targets sometimes...

This is what I mean by "adequate" firepower. Remember, HAVE FUN.

Looks pretty good. I remember seeing an Israeli Avia S.199 color scheme for a BF-109 on Flying Legends. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
