Real nice.

Too bad about the Russian blah blah blah though.

The rocket firing sure looks like one press of hte trigger to fire all 8.

Gives me an ideaer. Got to to program a button on the X45 to be a macro to press the fire button for the rockets four times in quick succession to simulate that. Should be fun!

Just pulled it down at work! Awesome - my two fav. aircraft in action. Have to say that bearing in ming there is no refly button in real life, these guys were right down on the deck a lot of the time - the clip early on with the mossies over the city - I thought one of them was gonna bank it between two chimneys at one point, like the old star wars arcade game from the 80's! They must of had steel ones, or incontinence pants!!!

Also, although I'm enjoy the PF theatres a lot, makes me realise how good it would be to have some fjords - There's definitely a shot ithere where one of them comes straight over a ridge points it down at a ship about a 1000' below in the black water and lays into it - would love to do that in this game...

Anyway - cheers for an excellent post!

Yeah!!! Thanx P1ngu, a great track http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The narration, however & as an aside, doesn't sound Russian to me... Hungarian or Yugoslavian maybe?

they flew low, to avoid radar, which they often did http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
over the city, it was to cut down the amount of aa that could see, or fire at them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

plus they probably loved to buzz the population, and im sure they loved back http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

that city footage is from one of the gestapo raids, so ofcouse the crews would want todo there very best http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

WOW!

I can actualy see my house in the Copenhagen raid (shell house).

Where did you get that?? An American production with an English soundtrack over dubbed in Russian?

Again; thanks; I'll be showing that to my father in law tonight; he remembers seeing the escorts flying out of town down Roskildevej over the rooftops...

thx for the vid.. good demonstration how unaccurate the WW-2 rockets really were.. on this video how many rockets actually hit the target ? I count zero http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Then compare rockets to the game überly accurate rockets.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

true, but on the typhoon vid, guy fires at railway or road, and all hit perfectly

i think they fired them too soon aswell, and they would also aim for just under waterline.

still bet it was scary tobe on one of those ships http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

What we didn't see was the Typhoon pilots come back round and fire off 800 20mm shells each at those ships.

Awesome video,

For those who may not have recognised it, at least parts of that was footage from 'Operation Jericho', a daring mission to allow members of the French Underground to escape the Amiens Prison in France just before their execution. It involved pinpoint bombing of the outer walls and guards towers, with care taken in an attempt to avoid killing any of the inmates.

This clip means a lot to me, as my Great Uncle Robert Iredale was one of the Wing Commanders of this raid, flying aircraft SB-F with 464th 'Gestapo Hunters' Squadron of the RAAF. I saw SB-U in this clip when I flicked through it, and I'm about to have a look again to see if I can find his plane!

I joined here just to post this, but I've been meaning to sign up for awhile. Can't wait to fly the Mossie with my uncle's codes with the next patch!

That's great stuff thanks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Have you noticed what it says on the side of the Beaufighter aircrew car? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

It's very evocative how you can see people in the streets of Copenhagen.

It shows the confidence in the Mossie that the footage of those raids is taken by an unarmed aircraft from the Film Production Unit rather than the strike aircraft themselves.

"Wing Commander Iredale DFC led a dusk attack on 10th June against petrol tankers at Chatellerault 200 miles into France. The op called for bombing from 20 feet. On the way home they shot up trains on the line north."

Yeah, I know....The name's kind of duff but I was getting frustrated because I wanted to register in a hurry to post about my uncle, and all of the names I usually choose were taken. Since my uncle's squadron was nicknamed "The Gestapo Hunters" and I was going to post about him anyway, I thought it was kind of appropriate.

Hi, the info is from 'Mosquito' by Sharp & Bowyer.

Apart from listing his name for Amiens those are the only mentions of him.

There's a page here (http://www.mossie.org/books/Mosquito_books.php) listing Mossie books.

You have this? (http://www.warbooks.com.au/IndividualBooks/thegestapohunters.html) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

What really impresses me about the footage is that you get a feeling of how fast they are going. I've lived in Copenhagen & I recognize the area they pass before the attack & many of the buildings - it'll take you maybe half an hour to walk the route of their second turn which they conduct in a few seconds! Btw - my grandma heard the impact of the Mosquito that crashed even though she lived several kilometres away - she says it was way louder than the bombs & really scary.

Just watched this again and couldn't help noticing... is it only me or are the 20mm hispanos UNDERMODELLED in this game!!! I know they're already seen as the uberweapon of choice for the noob, but look at the size of water splash they kick up around the ships - one of them looks like it's in a jacuzzi at one point, and the fountains are really tall, more like somebody just lobbed about 60 100 lb bombs if you compare it to the water effects in game. Ok - that's just water effects, but then look at the footage where the strafing hits the ships towards the end (several instances). There are really big flashes and explosions coming from the 20mm hits, and lots of them so it's def not rockets coming in from out of shot as it were. They look like they're shredding the superstructure to bits. I dunno how effective they were against ships but they look really scarey on this footage...

Am gonna play and play beaufighter missions tonight, see how effective they look in game - but don't remember them being that good!

Cheers

Bud
