readable compass on EVERY plane (currently yaks,I16,early IL2s and some others are unreadable).

ACCURATE markings on NormandieNiemen planes (currently they have stars on the upperside of wings,wich is inaccurate,plus the numbers are too forward).

many other things need patching at the moment,i'd prefer everything broken beeing repaired b4 thinking of new planes....

Improved AI for low level bombing and real ability to dive for some planes ( the FWs for example ). Adding the popu-up abilty after low level ingress without completely disorientating the AI.

Ability to order the AI to attack light anti armour artillery ( instead of only " tanks " mixing trucks with AA and real armour.... or " flak " just attacking big guns )

Definitely a Spitfire, Mk. Vb, IX, or XIV. P-51 Mustang (but we know that's coming). B-17, B-25 (AI or flyable, I don't care). Typhoon or Tempest and Some italian planes, like Mc.200 or 202 or 205, Fiat G-50 or G.55, Fiat Cr.42 or Reggiane 2000-2005 series. Bf-110 would be nice, and I don't know how correct a beaufighter, mosquito or He-219 would be, but it would be neat to have a night fighter aspect to the game. Obviously not all these planes are realistic or possible, but just a few would be good inclusions into a great sim.

Amongst others the Fokker D.XXI and other a/c's from the russian front we still haven't seen in any flightsim.

No reason, for my part, to make Spitfire's and Mustangs or B-17's for that matter, have seen them all before.....

But they will make good prey though..

Simple answer, I would like to fly soon the aircrafts which are very soon to be ready or are already finished: P-51, Ju-88 and especially the Me-110.

Why especially the Me110? Because there are still many aircrafts for either the T&B and the B&Z pilots, there are aircrafts for the ground-attack or the bomber pilots, but there are no twin-engined aircrafts which can be flown as intruders and the 110 can do this job. Of course, for other "intruders" aircrafts, I would like to see the Tu-2, the Boston and even more the Mosquito or the Ju-88S. In fact, fast bombers which can do their mission with no escort and good chances of surviving against single-engined fighters for a new style of flying!

C model had ventral fins and larger tail, which helped with directional stability - stalls less frequent. It is by no means an "uber" plane, but would make a welcome addition to the Cobra plane sets....

We originally planned on doing the Kingcobra from scratch, because we already had a highly detailed, 3dsmax model of a P-63 already completed. We were actually going to try to reduce the poly count and adapt it to IL-2, but we decided it was too much work. What we are doing now is "morphing" the P-39 model that Maddox Team did into a P-63. We are also using Il-2's P-39 cockpit and modifying it to a P-63. There are a number of differences, but many objects and textures such as the throttle quadrant, gauges, etc. are common and this saves us some work.

We are nearly done with the airframe shape, although there are some details we need to attend to, and then I have to retexture). So I guess it would be fair to say that we are 60-70% finished with the airframe and 60% finished with the cockpit.



This was more than 8 months ago. Unfortunately, this is not currently being worked on - the modeler was re-assigned another aircraft. Is it possible for 1C:Maddox to complete this project? Please?

the Me309 and 609... the latter is the daddy of the Twin Mustang (look at my Sig)
I would be glad if someone made these two planes. It would be very easy because the 609 is just two 309s sticked together - so it wouldn't take much extra time.

Cockpit visibility in the 609 is quite limited but SO WHAT... it is a Zerstörer and meant to destroy bombers and ground targets

Armament is 4xMk108 (!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ) in the Zerstörer version and 2xMk108 in the fighter-bomber role... as a bomber it can carry 2x SC1000 bombs! That's quite a blast LOL

So it would be really cool to see these babes in FB... they are a lot more interesting to fly than one of those "fly-it-30mins-and-then-throw-it-away" crap like the TB3 mothership with those 2 Tie-Fighters /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif or the Zeke/Zero and the Me163 Komet...

I'd rather have the non-flyable ac made flyable before getting new planes. Always seems annoying having planes in a game and then not being able to fly them. The one exception to that rule would be SPITFIRE. The MkIX.LF was sent in more numbers than any of the others and was used for the defence of Moscow. [1186 LF.IXs and 2 HF.IXs, also 140 or so VBs]

Otherwise, get the Bf-110 flyable and the Pe-2. TB-3 is good for a laugh, but for the other 95% of the war a Pe-2 would be a much more representative VVS bomber.

I'd love to see an IL-10 late in the war(it was in service by VE day),
as well as a Bf109B, which would open up the way to the Spanish civil war.

Also the FW200 Condor would be great.In AI of course.

Other planes I'd love to fly would be the DO335 in the fighter campaign, and the Ar 234 Blitz in the fighter/bomber campaign.

Finaly,if anyone can create a flyable Commonwealth Boomerang I would say thank you very much!

1. Tempest/Typhoon [Tempest on the way and will likely be best looking plane in game /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ] Thanks Alex and Hammerd!

2. Spitfire (any version, but everyone seems to want it so maybe I'll make Tempest my permanent ride. Actually I have always liked Tempest way more than Spitfire in '44, as the Mk XIV shouldn't be considered a Spitfire IMHO).

3. Macchi 202/205 (will be great for axis to have some new options, and a good one at that. A very maneuverable plane with excellent climb should make this plane very effective in FB, but alot will depend on it's armament) Production quality was also said to be excellent, which is a reason I like it so much)

Note the wording "first free update". Possibly that'll mean most of the completed or near completed stuff already shown in the Friday updates, plus some others.

Thanks to Rooboy3118's list there are a large number of projects to look at. Get in behind the modelers and you may get them.


From my personal POV I'd like to see what's in the game already made flyable, especially the Hs129, Su-2, Pe2 & 3, the Bf110, and the Italian planes (G-50, Mc202). Oh, and the Ju-88.

As for US a/c. Don't we have enough already?
P39, P40, P47, P51, B-239 (Buffalo), Russian ver of C-47. Why turn Il-2 into SWOTL or Western Front flightsim #347? A good reason why IL-2's so popular is that it isn't the same "uber US planes win the war singlehanded" sim that everything else seems to be. There are lots of guys that would love to see a carrier in this game, have you noticed the **** pit under development shots of the Zero.
Take a look at the left and right side outside of the **** pit.
Notice the Wing Fold up positions for the Zero.

I don't really care for any "new" aircraft, I'd just like to see the AI (non flyable) machines that are already in the game get cockpits so that we can fly them!

I realize that there are many excellent modelers out there that have done some incredible work, and I applaud them for it. However, regardless of how much work they have put into a new model to get it into FB, it still requires a tremendous amount of extra work to be done by Oleg's team in order for it to actually become flyable. I would rather see Oleg's team spend their valuable time on the a/c that are already in the game, but which require cockpits. Once they are all done, I'd be in favor of opening the flood gates, and allow anything anyone wants to model.

There are many important AI-only aircraft yet to become flyable.

Bombers, Fighter-bombers and Ground attack aircraft are especially important.

I'm looking forward flying the Ta 152H. However, if I could pick one fighter to be flyable, I'd pick the Ta 152C! Imagine an armament consisting of 1x30mm and 4x20mm cannons! Talk about firepower! Add to this a topspeed of about 750km/h! I'd like to see more variants of the Fw190D family aswell, preferably the D-11, D-12 and D-13!

The Spitfire will be a beautiful sight! I can't for the life of me understand why it wasn't added a looong time ago! Good thing we know it's on its way!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Strange we have one plane that was very fast but pathetically ineffective and another that managed a few test flights but we don't get one of the most important planes of the whole war? I am heavily bomber oriented, so thats where i'd like the developers/3rd party modellers to focus on. Give us bomb-whiners (and there is more than few of us out there, at least online) a representative from each side of the war in two and four engined configuration medium/heavyweight bombers, and we'll all be as happy as clams, i'd bet.

I see the dev. updates, and i *yawn*, more variants of existing models, and more models of somewhat obscure WWII fighter interceptors, but darn little promise of things to come for us Bomber plodders. I realize that for the modellers, a bomber is proportionally a much larger project to tackle when it comes to getting the interiors accurate, but as far as i am concerned, as long as the cockpit itself is reasonably accurate, the rest of the gun stations could be approximations -how much time do we, the live online pilots, actually spend manning the gun stations in defence of our plane, instead of the AI gunners taking care of business?- Certainly not enough time to make a Smithsonian Institute quality virtual reproduction, i'd venture.

Yes, it is a fighter oriented sim, by and large. However, with time and continuous development, the sim has become so much more versatile, and has attracted us Bomber plodders. IL2FB-AEP would be so much better and well-rounded, with a few choice full featured medium and heavy bombers on each side to play with, and try to shoot down, online.
