I've been wondering about this for a while so I thought I would just throw this out here.. Some of you have been around this long enough to remember when CFS2 was all the rage..

I still have a copy of CFS2 on the HD. My son likes to play around with it once in a while.

Normally my machine can run CFS2 in the 60-70 fps range.. But, when ever I'm in COCKPIT view, the Frames drop way down to 5 or 6 fps.. Jump out of cockpit back to no-cockpit frames go back to 60-70.

My machine is kind of a dog by current standards, but for an app like CFS2, its more than enough I would think.

So is the newer hardware just not going to run this old stuff or what might be the reason for this?

Thanks for the trouble

Perhaps the game is too old and causing your driver mayhem.
Of all the CFS series, CFS2 was by far the best.

"Of all the CFS series, CFS2 was by far the best"

I thought so too.
IIRC Nvidia 33.series was the latest about that time. I'll see if I have a copy of those around somewhere.
Thanks

+3

By far isn't accented enoughhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

It is more like by very very very far..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif CFS 1 was a good game but two or three leagues behind CFS2. CFS3 was utter PoS so much resources demanding that at times I had a feeling that I could run 2 IL-2 apps (original mind you) for the "price" of one CFS3 on my PC.
That how much it "ate"... crazy stuff.

CFS2 was the one, I really liked it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif .
