12-20-2003, 02:27 PM
Hey guys,

I just got a new video card, 9800 SE. Everytime I click "fly" in IL2:FB when it is set to OpenGL my PC reboots. DirectX works fine and opengl worked with my old GeForce2 Ti.

Using the latest ATI drivers 3.10. Any suggestions to help?

Also what is thw word on the old forum accounts? Are they still in transition?

Thanks for the help.

Ah, thanks very much. Do the older driver work in perfect? I would be interested in checking out the quality of perfect mode. Or would I be better keeping 3.10?

Perfect is over rated stay with the 3.10's and exelent, your frame rate will be higher and the game smoother, there is nothing I hate more than when the game turns to a slide show.( I dont like my min fps to go under 30 )

And yes the old drivers work in perfect but not above cat3.7 after this you have to hack the openGL drivers.

The next driver update is apparently going to fix that reboot issue. Here's hoping!

Except for the perfect, 3.10's are sweeeet!

Ok, so I've taken perfect mode off, everything is now on excellent and high. Exact same setting I ran with my old GeForce 2 Ti. I am still getting these reboots once i click fly.

Do any OpenGL Settings work with 3.10? Am I forced to play DirectX with 3.10?

Post your problem in tech support forum with your DxDiag.

Why would I need to post DxDiag for a opengl and ATI driver problem?

No kidding. Everyone knows ATI doesn't work properly under openGL. Its like saying "Hey, ice sure is cold".
