Right now we cant use mis files in our cache folder become of olegs descision to make them not work so 3rd party people like operation barbarossas missions dont get taken. Which they all been recreated by users already

leadspitter that is utter nonsense

barbarossa is an OFFLINE campaign

there is no way people could get them by raiding the onlione mission cache .. they are not online missions

whatever the reason for Oleg blocking access to them it cannot possibly be connected with 3rd party offline campaign sales.

I agree with you that making the mission cache inacessible is a bad move by Oleg.

I just have never seen anything to say it was connected with the one or two rare paid addons that are kicking around.

I was under the impression that certain squads and\or certain creators of certain online wars lobbied Oleg for this new 'feature'. It seems that they didn't want players to see the missions before they were actually flown, which could give an advantage to those players.

The problem is that it probably had more of a negative effect on the community than a positive one.

Actually, the problem could have been resolved to the satisfaction of most everyone by simply adding a mission password option. This would 'lock' the mission to everyone but the mission creator, or anyone who has the password. By 'lock', I mean that it would be impossible to open the mission and view\change the contents. It would not affect the actual playing of the mission by anyone.

Creators of online co-ops or any other missions that they wouldn't mind sharing could simply leave the password option unchecked. I have seen this in other flight sims (for instance, the Flanker series) and it seems to work just fine.

Maybe the community can ask Oleg to think about putting this option in a future patch.

That's actually a very good idea Aviar. I'm all for it.

Those of you who wish to share missions and have Windows should have a program that will let you do it.

Open "Windows Explorer" go to C:\Program Files\Net Meeting

double click "conf" fill out the info, and then connect by IP. Each of you needs to send one chat message so it knows your in a call. Then go to the file transfer window, add files to the list, and send. Thats how I got the Beta08 patch.

Files you recive will be in the C:\Program Files\Net Meeting\Recived Files folder. Just have the person send the origional mission and it will work.

I would also like to see the difficulty settings coded into the mission, according to the mission maker, with the option of overriding them
