True Story, little off topic but still true.
When I put Surround sound on my system the sound quality was fantastic.
with a 75 watt booster I could really crank it up into major immersion levels.

About 2 hrs into my 1st session theres a knock on the door.
The people next door called the cops because I was "shooting" automatic weapons in my basment.

I had to show them the game and system to prove them wrong.
They made me turn it down then left.
That would be the end of the story, but 4 hrs later the 2 cops showed up at my door again.
This time they were off work and wanted to try the game out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We played most of the night on full volume...
Ya gotta love the local cops http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

USB Headsets do have their own Sound Processors. So it makes no sense to buy an USB Headset if you want to use it with an Audigy or nV Soundstorm or other sound systems.

Is there a version which will run on 5.1 from an SPDIF output? I took my SoundBlaster Live! out of my system and I am running stereo sound via a M-Audio Quattro but I still have an onboard 5.1 card, but its 5.1 is only via SPDIF, not via analog outs.

Two sound cards. If your motherboard has on board sound, use that one for TS.

No, it is just designed to do stereo, or 4 independent outputs on 6.35mm jacks. Unless I put the Soundblaster Live! back in all I have is the integrated chipset on the motherboard.

I put a Zalman flower cooler in my PC and forgot to connect the fan to the power supply and ran it for a couple of months before I realised. (Summer arrived and ambient temperature increased and the chip started getting hot enough for my monitoring software to notice).

Guys I have a problem with setting up my Medusas(they really are VERY good).
I have onboard Nforce 2 sound on an A7N8XE deluxe mobo. I need to have my mike pluggged into the pink mike socket on the mobo this means I cant use the full speaker setup features of the Nforce software. There is a green socket for a sound connector and a blue one. When I plug the Medusa sockets into the greenone I get no sound only fromn the blue socket which gives me the centre and sub-woofer channels.
There are two other sockets on the mobo, a purple and an amber one, these do not seem to output sound either...anyone any ideas?
Would an audigy 2 give me the ability to get the 5.1 sound AS WELL as the mike for comms??

AAron...use the Nforce software to enable 5.1 speaker setup.
When it asks you if the sub/center is plugged into the mic socket UNCHECK that box.
Plug the sub/center speakers(RED plug) into the AMBER socket and the front speakers(BLUE plug) into the PURPLE socket.
The (dark)GREEN(plug) goes in the (light)GREEN socket.
You can then plug the PINK (mike plug) into the PINK socket and get voice comms!
But you must enable it all using the Nforce software.

I have an A7V880 motherboard, TooMuchCheese, and is has an SPDIF out, and then a pink, blue, and green (mic, line in, stereo out, with the first to configurable to outs). This is why I wish the Medusa worked with an SPDIF out - it would leave the mic input untouched! My other option is routing the mic through an electret mic power supply (as I assume the Medusa uses the mic jack to get its boost power from), into a mixer, M-Audio Quattro, and finally into my PC over USB!!!!
