ok might be off topic, heck I know it is but ill post here cause us skinners are less likely to not beat eachother up

I have a thing for 1:24 scale ww2 models, I have started work on a BF 109E but am thinking about converting it to a Bf 109G6 but I can`t make up my mind.
I am bounceing back and forth between the two daily. a decision must be made so I come to you.

by this weekend I will make my final decision based on what is said here asumeing this thread doesnt get locked.
Make your case now! bf 109E or bf 109G6 or other 109 series. bump as needed until sunday. thanks, you are my only hope HEE HeEE!!

jeeeez, turning a 109E into a 109G is more than an hard task m8, it's a SUICIDE! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
U gotta be able to use epoxidic putty, plasticard and other materials (like resin and other modeling materials)...
I'd go for the Emil, it has such a fascinating look /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

If you are that talanted I would go for the G model. I did a 1/24th FW190D-9 this year. I used the Airfix 190A model as a base and then used Rutman's Dora converstion. I wish thay would have more 1/24th scale stuff.
Good Luck

I say do the Emil first. Do one of those yellow nosed BoB finishes and if you´ve done that, convert another to a G.
Perhaps Wick´s Emil or Sch¶pfels would be interesting.
Just look at Cpt. Farrels skins for inspiration.
Eagle Strike does some additional decals.

Doing a small 1/72 Emil at the moment and a 48th G10.
Have a Airfix Emil waiting, too.

hey steven 190 did you ever look at the large scale planes web site? someone did a great FW 190d9 conversion from what i believe was the airfix kit. was it you?

converting to the G6 shouldnt be too hard since i am a sculptor just some extensive putty work in fact if I do a conversion i think Ill mold the parts and make the castings avaliable.

Ya the P-51 is a nice kit. I got that one to.

so to keep track its Emil / 2 and Gustav / 1
Thanks keep um commin guys. convice me!!

its goin but goin slow.
right now I am working on cross sections that will get fleshed out with sculpting wax, then molded and cast in a thin resin. these should just pop into the airfix 109e engine coweling. oh ya it needs a redone tail to but thats easy. gunno go get some 109g6 cockpit pics soon at the eaa museum. ill keep you posted.
