It is a marvelous plane!
They say that it can fly backwards, it can FLY as slow as 15 MPH, and it needs only 25 m or so to take-off and land!
I think that I will try to buy a replica in a few years...
Mre info about Stroch is here:

http://www.piteraq.dk/flight/storch.html

http://www.storch.com.au/aircraft.htm

What you all think?
I think that it is one of 10 best planes in history so far...

Excuse me,,, but why? To be instantly shot down? Even a flight of 109s would have a hard time stopping your Storch from turning into waving Torch!

Hmm. Info on it`s interesting, but I still can`t see much point.

not true the storch was very diffacult to shot down if it had a half *** dicsent pilot.I just finshed reading a story
about a P-51 and a storch over paris when ever the P-51 whent to fire on the Fi-156 the pilot just slowed down and the P-51 just over shot him and wasted his ammo on the building's of paris and nerly hit some of them

To have FUN.
It doesn't matter if get shot down or not.
It should be flyable anyway.
Simple little cockpit and several are still flying.
Also anyway the Storch wasn't that easy too shoot down because it was so slow and manuverable.

It would be nice to fly in some situations. MAybe flying some recon missions and calling in Stukas for ground attack. Unfortunatly, the communication conrols with the AI and control tower would need to be tweaked for this to be possible. It would be very cool to call the control tower with your position and request an airstrike. Maybe have a rear observer with binoculors act like a rear gunner. Would definatly add something new to this great sim.

And add a FW-189 and Po-2 for that matter. Not neccessarily much combat potential here, but could make for some interesting missions, nevertheless. As much as I'd like to fly these birds I think player versions are unlikely. Who knows, maybe Oleg will suprise us.

Just before that, be sure that you spell it right : it's Storch actually, not Stroch /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This tiny little bee would be a lovely target for Yaks (one bullet probably takes it down) but still, I'm with you, it would be fun to fly !

Exuse the spelling errors...
And once again this plane can almost hoover in the air, so it would be quite difficult to shoot down...

I'd love to fly this plane as well. If i didn't completely suck at 3d modeling i would consider working on it myself, if they agreed to include it as flyable. I doubt that they will though since it isn't really all that great for combat. And of course, they are probably too busy with the patch and more popular addon aircraft to worry about the Storch.

The Fw-189 would rock (for me anyway) in night missions and light ground attack or recon or well just about in any enviroment. Not exactly a dogfighter though but who cares? It looks cool.

When you're so bored you want to fly the Storch you need to re-think a few things.

You can always fly Storch type aircraft in non-combat type simulators,i.e. MSFT FS2002.

Build a mission with big bunch of them and fly them over some 20MM AA at at about 1,500. Talk about a turkey shoot. I like to set up some static cameras, because they go down so fast you need a side view... LOL

A better name would for it would have been created by dropping the "S".

I must be bored to respond to a Storch posting /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Saw a Storch take off at a Bakersfield airshow in May...took like 10 feet before it leapt off the ground - pretty amazing...when it came in for a landing it almost looked like it was standing still. I can't believe these were used for recon (I could be wrong) - they seem like easy targets!

YEAH, there;'s one restoren in Holland too, real nice plane. Makes for a nice change from all the noisy and smelly jets.

That's exactly why they were USED for recon. Relatively small, quiet and the ability to "hover" in place provided for great spotting. Versatile flight and landing characteristics didn't hurt either. What many here are saying is "bad" about the Storch is what made it so good. It's unassuming stature made fighter contact rare and only an idiot would send one over an enemy airfield in broad day light.
