I have bound a control key to lock my tailwheel, but for some reason I cannot get the tailwheel locked when I fly the P-38!

Can someone help me please?!?!?!?

One of the main reasons the tailwheel doesn't work on the P-38 is because it has no tailwheel http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No really...

Try locking/unlocking the tailwheel on the B-25....not sure if its a bug or not.

So on the P-38 should I press the "lock tail wheel" button twice then ?

Must be a bug then, because I have the same problem in the P-39. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, 1c obviously screwed up everything on the tailwheels and even the landing gear.
My Val "gear up" button doesn't work ... never has, and they just don't seem to want to fix it.

since I can't get it to work, I can't even see if the "gear down" will work either ... probably both are porked !!!
Typical !, just typical !

I was being serious about the B-25 by the way. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I accidentially hit the tailwheel lock key while taking off, completely lost control and swerved off the runway. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

How is that possible? I hit the tail wheel lock on the 38 once just to see what would happend & got nothing.

P-38 HAS NO TAILWHEEL!!!

The P-38 not only has no tailwheel, (it had a nose wheel), but the nosewheel cannot be locked as it is a "free caster". It is completely loose and not steerable.
P-38 pilots used engine differential to steer the plane as the brake parts were hard to come by and easy to wear out.
I find it easy to steer using rudder and brake. Just make sure that you roll straight forward for a plane length or so before you start your take off. This allows the nosewheel to straighten out.
Shame on all you guys for messing with him. :P

In conclusion : one does not have to be a pilot in order to read Biggles, does one?
