I don't think that's a new flight sim. That looks like an add-on for MS FS 2002.

Great model but the thing is Direct X powered if I'm not mistaken. Can tell by the washed out textures which is Direct X's trade mark and why I always prefer to play games in OpenGL.

Most noticable on internal textures which look like crap.

Back to the Model. Wow.

I dunno, OpneGL looks greasy to me. And the sky shading around the sun is totally smooth in DirectX but is striped in OpenGL.

I'd like to see the original Su~7 added to LOMAC cos they say it was sweetest thing to fly ever made.

In case link didn't work. These guys have been around for years pumping models like this out. Sick huh? Too bad its under the limmits of Flight Simulator 2002 and the new $57 2004 patch. Which in my opinion is all 2k4 is.

That's some beautiful work. Now, if they could only do something with those ground textures.

It looks lovely, but it'll probably slow FS2002 down to a standstill. Project Opensky ( http://www.projectopensky.com/) have made some beautiful aircraft, but they cut my frame rate right down whenever I tried to use 'em. If you want good looking, interesting planes with good flight models (as far as FS2002 goes), look for Bill Lyons' aircraft at one of the archive sites (www.flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com) or www.avsim.com) (http://www.avsim.com)).

That's amazing, right down to the static disapaters on the side of the fuselage. The propeller stenciling with Hamilton Standard sticker on the prop is a nice touch. Did I mention I work on the engines and prop on these birds? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

(I haven't been to Sig's 'R Us yet, so sig is forthcoming)

Indeed he doesn't. FS2004 is, apparently, actually worse. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=122&topic_id=12256 is a discussion by several very knowledgable MSFS developers who seem to have figured out that FS2004 no longer uses several important variables in flight modelling. It's a bit of a heavy read, but quite interesting.

Sarcasm aside, he's right. For as long as I can remember (I started with FS2) MSFS have been gradual increments, not giant leaps forwards. Improvements certainly, but small ones.

I love FS! But 2k4 is without a doubt a step backward with the sim series. I've been building planes for FS for years. There are many more technical issues not unlike that of which Areo refrenced to, that plauges 2k4. Not simple bugs, but major design flaws.
