Hey all, in the CGI trailer when that dude with the Columbine mask was dancing at the fair, it showed a symbol on his hand as he was clutching his neck dying. Does anyone know what family this belonged to cause it sorta looked like a family crest to me. I think I remember seeing a flag with the same symbol in one of the concept images but Im not sure.

It's the Borgia crest. One of the most corrupt families of the Renaissance.

yeah, they were Nobles.
Pope Alexander VI was from the Borgia family and is one of the most hated historical figures

Speaking of Popes, will Ezio be paying a visit to the Vatican city? Because in the very first AC2 trailer, the crest of the Vatican city appears along with two others.

Would be sorta hard to do considering Florence is where you'll be when the game starts and the Vatican is like 125 miles away, but who knows maybe his horse can travel it quickly

How come you always have a good point?! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

Well maybe it just signifies the Vatican connection.

Psh, it's Assassin's Creed, for pete's sake!
Since when does realistic mileage apply to the game's engine? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

i really dont know, but maybe the pope symbol implied that he would be visiting Florence on some sort of mission, and that's when you go assassinate him or whatever you do

Anyone want to take a punt that the fellow who dies at the end is thus Alfonso de Borja (1378-1458), with the date at the start of the clip being 1458. Also this raises the question of how is Da Vinci involved if your in Venice, as at that time he was in Milan. So I suspect the game does much like it did with Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus in AC1. With the player moving between Florence, Venice and Milan in AC2. Although I suppose Rome could be involved as well, but it's a bit further away than the others. But it being the home of the Vatican city I suspect it's too juicy to leave out.

Is Milan a confirmed location for ACII?

I don't think so but it would make historic sense, to include as you wouldn't meet Da Vinci anywhere else until he flee's Milan for Venice in 1499. It is a game though so they can twist history I suppose. On the same note I now have the sneaky supscion most of this will be about Pope Alexander (Rodrigo de Borjia) and Cesare (his son) and his attempt to rule Italy. Only thing is that their deaths were early in the 15th century, and if we see Ezio now he'd be an old man by then. Of course the game could take history off it's well established tracks much as it did in AC1. Anywho feel free to ignore me, most of this is just me puzzling things out.

Speaking of the guy Ezio kills didn't he have a strikingly familiar voice?
