View Full Version : i feel like a vampire playing online

when i feel down i connect online shoot some bandits and feel much better, but to achieve this i made somebody feel worse

for example im feeling down connect and shoot a guy 3 times in a row, i start to laugh and he starts to feel down

in a way when i jump online to cheer up is like if i stole good energy from people by shoot them down

of course i take the risk of feeling bad jumping online and end up feeling much worse by losing too much but my 10 years experience online helps this not to happen

but whats for sure is that being good this online game is the best antidepresive ever made

He didn't say he'd been playing this sim for ten years, he said he'd had online experiences for 10 years. Jeez

you don't "steal energy" by "killing" them online....repeat: this is only a game

what i meant is that in a persons game, online not offline, is like if you bet mood, the one who wins gets good mood who loses bad mood

what is curious is that for one getting good mood the other must get bad mood, in all fun games theres a winner and a loser in all you bet mood

btw i started with european air war my next fauvorite game after this one

raaaid: Consider that not everyone feels the same level of disappointment (or "down" energy) and that you may be gaining far far far more than you're taking away from anyone.

Besides, most of the people who get shot down that often are either already having a bad day or are new to the game and will not unlearn bad habits if they don't get knocked around a few times.

You're doing them a favour. At the very least you can't be sure they feel down as much as you feel up. No energy stealing here.

raaaid, you can shoot me down (or die trying http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) all you like.

I'll simply respawn and be in no way more upset than I was before. I play for enjoyment. Anger and dissapointment are not a part of that proccess.

So, fire away http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Agree with you raaaid but I wouldn't be overly sensitive m8.

As in most things there are winners...... and losers.

I get especially irritated by getting shot down by doing something stupid, when I'm trying not to be http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

Everyone gets shot down despite what some would have you believe.

It's a cruel world http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

If you feel bad while chasing someone online, think, even for a minute, what would the REAL THING be like .......

Think of how bad of a mood Sweden must have been in to concede two goals in the first 20 minutes of the game.

I agree with you. I spent a lot of time on the "bad mood" side due to poor joystick, and when nowadays I shoot down someone several times, I also feel like a vampire, because I know how it feels for the other guy.

However, I solve this easily. First, I give the person some advice on what he is doing wrong, so that he can improve.. Second, I usually take worse planes to even the field. Finally, I also offer switching sides (and planes), maybe he is unfamiliar with the plane that he is flying. This kind of help is a great feeling to receive, but also great feeling to give! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif Much better than shooting down the poor chap 4th, 5th ...10th time... kinda boring... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

These little gestures allow making friends online, and everyone leaves the server with a good mood, even if they were not so successful that day. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I don't let the actions of my opponent affect my mood. If I'm down after dying it's usually because *I* screwed up so I'm down on me. If it was a good fight and the other guy did well it can actually put me in a good mood because it was all in fun.

The other I had someone bounce me clean. Never saw them. One second flying along and the next BOOM!. It was a thing of beauty I had to admire. As for the feelings of the person if I shoot them down? Don't care. It's a game and I'm not in control of their emotions any more than they are of mine.

Taking it too far again, raaaid.

If I shoot someone down I feel good. If someone shoots me down I feel not good, but not bad either. It`s a sim. My life isn`t measured by whether I`m shot down or who I shoot down.

I feel good when I take a walk by the canal by the beautiful trees and see a luminescant kingfisher sometimes, with my daughter as I do nearly every Sunday.

I feel good when I do a great piece of artwork a day.

Compared to this IL2 is just not comparable on the `feel good\ feel bad` thermometer. The only time I might actually feel `bad` is if I accidentally shoot down a friendly.

i see online action like a drug you can have a good or bad trip and experience helps it to be good

what is odd is that the drug is just online, off line you dont get those adrenaline highs for long

as i said ive been playing sims online 10 years and the more i play the more addicted i get to this adrenaline feeling and that winning feeling

if i lose is not that bad because i can learn but doesnt feel that good

boy will i fly this summer the spit 25lbs http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
