I love my wingman force. I hear many on the boards gripe about wingmans stick. Logitech must not make them like they used to, because this stick has been great and given me many years of reliable service.

Yeah I guess Logitech must've taken a dive in quality with their more recent sticks...

Once saw a post where you could still get these old style ones. Some co. in Canada was selling them. If Logitech would just remake this old design with a few more buttons & stuff I'd probably buy one.
I've thought about the Saitek stick/throttles but can't see spending the money while mine still works. Besides the Force effects are cool. I wish I had some rudder pedals that became more rigid as speed built up etc.

P.S.

The twist pots on logitechs suck, they rarely last more than a month or so. My Saitek is a year old and is in perfect operating condition. Logitech is good for mice, but not sticks..IMHO.

I have a Logitech Wingman Force 3d and hate the thing. Got wobbly on me within 3 weeks of playing IL2, and I don't have any cash to pick up anything better /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif .

The logitech ff sticks come (maybe only in the past) in two flavours:
a big bulky (and, from what I understand, sturdy) one, and a flimsy piece of CR@P cheaper one...

I bought one of the cheaper ones 3 years ago and went through a quick succession of 3 replacements because they all died within 3 weeks (losing ff entirely, or spiking atrociously, or ff that "went nuts" as soon as the plug was in)- CompuSmart in Montreal was very good about replacing the defective ones but finally I just gave up and got a MS Sidewinder ff which has been really good.

So either get the more expensive Logitech or an MS ff2 which is the same price.

There's my 0.2c

[edit: Saburo- I hadn't seen the pic; that's the bulkier one, not the cheapie thing. Glad it's been good for you. It's the cheapie one that I had bad experiences with]

I think that logitech did discontinue the wingman force. It is a shame because it is far superior to the 3D models they stuck with. I have had my WM Force since EAW and Red Baron 3D were new, and it is still working well. And the forces are still strong enough to rattle your teeth. This model does not have twist like the new ones, and works well with my CH Pedals.

I still have my old Wingman Force.... I love it!! I've been having it for a few years now and the thought crossed my mind of what I would do if it broke... I don't wanna use any other stick.. I looked on ebay and was pleased to find that there are more than a few people on Ebay selling used and NEW sticks like this! I will probably buy another one to use as a backup very soon....

Yep I can't believe they aren't making these instead of the cruddy ones they sell now. I guess the new ones are smaller & look better. i run my with CH pedals too. Had pleanty of buttons for RB & EAW & I'm getting by with FB.

I've also thought about buying another as a back up....does that make me nuts ?
