Forgive me if this has been posted before.

Can anyone provide a web site, historical DVD or book that explains how pilots from any side of the war were awarded kills? And I don't mean the bleeding obvious.

It has been stated on the "Clashes of Wings" DVD set that WWII Italian Pilots weren't awarded kills individually but the squadron the pilot belonged to was awarded the kill.

Does anyone know where I can find out what criteria German, Russian, British and USAAF pilots needed to meet before they were awarded a kill?

Regards,
Codex
