Unless the comms are going to give reliable sounds quality as Team Speak 2 then I say no.

I base this from my experince with Counter Strike: Source's in built comms, the quality is no where near to TS2's level.

Also most server companies give away TS2 channels now and even if this wasn't the case, enough of my clan members have a good enough connection to host a TS2 channel for the entire squad.

I play GR2 on Xbox Live sometimes, and being able to talk with your voice makes the game so much more enjoyable and tactical. So I hope built in comms get included. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

While a good idea, the games that do have built in comms suffer from quality problems, SHIII is like that from my understanding. 3rd party software is better really. If it could be implemented without quality problems and without hogging bandwidth, I see no problems. I still prefer 3rd party.

Sorry, didn't see any topic on it except when it was wanted in GR2 PC http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif. I have been playing ghost recon since it was launched on xbox and have been playing it on PC every other day since around christmas. The only thing I don't like about the pc over xbox is the comms. I would expect the comms to be in perfect working order, they don't hurt gameplay on the xbox. Why couldn't it be done on a PC?
When you're dead you only talk to other dead people, when you're on teams you don't have to be on the same channel as them, it just happens w/o the hassles. If there is no comms built in I would have to say my App of choice is also ventrilo.

TeamSpeak or Ventrilo its just a matter of preference. The quality of each also depends on the right codecs being used. I have heard crappy comms on both, but also clearer then clear on both.

There is also a 3rd application just surfacing recently is GameComm, http://www.gamecomm.com/ , which I have not personally tried, but have heard great things about.

Oh fine whatever. Why dont you rub in the fact that you got GR2 and we didnt. Still p*sses me off. Had to screw it all up. Seriously you guys. You have no idea how bad GR2 was. I bought it for PS2 and returned it the same night.

One thing you need to remember, GR2 for XBox and GR2 for PS2 were totally different games with different story lines and set in a different year. Yes, the gameplay was garbage (anecdoctal evidemce supports this) and not what some were expecting.

Who said quality built-in comms can't be done on PC!??

"I can't do it" and "I won't do it" are two totally different things... Most unescrupulous and lazy Devs choose the second option.

Next generation games such as GR3 should have it.

How am I "rubbing" it in? I wanted the game for the PC as well, but didn't get it. Also, who are "we" anyway? You mean PC fanboys who won't buy it for a console because they have childish inferiority complexes? Buy an Xbox if you wanna play it, no one is stopping you.

Play that garbage? Please. If I want a 3rd person action adventure game, I'll go back to playing SOCOM. I just have a real bad feeling about this game. When you're talking Built-in Comms, does that mean you don't have to download teamspeak or ventrillo cause it's already part of the installation?? Cause if so, I vote yes. If we can just type messages to eachother, I wont mind.

@ Delta_Hoot - I'd prefer a well made game without comms, rather than a game that has built in comms which has less features due to the built in comms being added and the time it took to impliment them.
