I've asked before but I got no response. So here goes again:

Completely disregarding the Linda Blair view, is there any other change to the drivers in the final version?

I know on their webpage it says there is another fix, but I figured they just wanted you to download the final version to get rid of the 360 degree view, and that in essence they were both the same.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

It fixed the Enhanced mode.

Care to elaborate? Have you tried both versions, and noticed a difference?

I never tried the beta, but I believe the Enhanced mode didn't work.

No, Enhanced mode works perfectly. I think there may be some XP related memory issues but I don't have XP. Overall there isn't a problem with 2.01b which is why I use it.

I thought we were talking about the beta 2.01 Dex?

I believe the only difference between 2.01B and 2.01 Final, is the view restriction, the enhanced mode was already fixed in the beta version, but taking into account the quick update to the final version so soon after the beta was released, I believe this to be the case.

Skinstick,

You are absolutely right - I have both. The only difference is the view restriction.

Who is Linda Blair?

From the TrackIR website:

"Note : If you have previously downloaded the 2.01 beta prior to the final release, please download 2.01 final for a fix related to the trackIR Enhanced mode present in the initial beta release."

Yeah, I kinda thought this was just "bogus-speak" for the fact that they hobbled the "Blair view". Thanks for the straight-up answer, which I haven't gotten till now(actually, Dex tried too).

Feck! I'm confused now. Was there a 2.0 version?

Thanks to you too, Bogun. As for Linda Blair, she's the posessed girl from the movie "The Exorcist". In one scene, she turns her head around 360 degrees. A "must see" movie.

Now, for all those who have tried both versions of software successfully, have any of you run it on XP?(so we can rule out the problems that Dex felt might be present).

Thank you.

Justfound this on the NP forum. This is what I was thinking of.

Updated this thread for version 2.01b the Public beta test of the new TIR softwear, DO NOT USE v2.01 make sure it is v2.01b you are downloading which can be found here

http://games.naturalpoint.com/files/NaturalPoint_trackIR_2_01b.exe

The first versio 2.01 introduced a bug where IL FB didnt work in enhanced mode and they introduced a new version within hours to fix this bug (Thats how good they support there product AWSOME)

So I guess they rolled the drivers out as:

1)2.01
2)2.01b
3)2.01final

Thanks, Buzz.

Now we just need to know whether 2.01b has XP problems or not.

I think one user, in one thread of the 20 related to this 2.01b software, reported having one problem, and he was using XP. Personally I'd give 100 to 1 odds that there's absolutely no problem with 2.01b. It was the "we think this is done so try it out" version of the software. That's why I never bothered upgrading.
