gonna ask again sorry as i sounded all mixed up last time.

is there anyway to improve Deck gun damage...for TGW...surly it shouldnt take 170 to kill a merchant? even tho its been hit by a torp...

and how can i modify TGW to show the origional neutral = green ect...cheers

Sonic, to partly answer your question - with TGW the damage model is harder - as you are finding!, the deck gun is only really effective for waterline shots only.

My advice to you is aim for fuel bunkers in merchants, but always via the waterline, always the waterline.

how do i specifically aim for fuel? with manual? only?

Are you running any mods with your game? In the recognition manual do you see any shaded areas on the side of the ship that denote specific areas such as engines, fuel bunker, ammo bunker?

If not, the Full Vulnerability Mod includes this 'addition' to the recognition manual, then you'll see where the vulnerable areas of the ship are. This is the good bit when using torps: Provided you are locked onto the target (press 'L') then you can selct a specific area such as the fuel bunkers. Open your tube doors (Q) then fire and the torp will go for the specific area you selected.

Without this mod, if using the deck gun, aim for the waterline below any funnels the ship has, or below the bridge. I recommend the this mod, it's useful for aiming the deck gun too, although you'll have to do that manually. You must also be at aprrox 90 degree angle - the perfrect firing solution to get the full vulnerablilty mod to activate (i.e to be able to select which area of the ship you want to attack)
