I installed the Ultimate Edition, then applied the 4.071m Patch, and, being a n00b, was shocked to find that the game did not start.

So now I have gone back and installed the 1946 Pack, and my question is this: am I going to have to go back through and reinstall all these in sequential order to have the game start, or will I be able to plug in the 1946 pack and be good to go? Please help.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Hi there.

Are you talking about the 1946 download or the 1946 DVD?

1946 DVD
========

The DVD is a standalone that doesn't require IL-2 Ultimate as it includes it all. The correct sequence for the DVD installation is:

<span class="ev_code_yellow">1946 DVD -> 4.071 patch</span>

1946 Download
=============

The 1946 download is (I believe) 4.05 to 4.07, and will install over your IL-2 Ultimate which is (I believe) 4.04 or 4.05.

Correct sequence here is:

<span class="ev_code_yellow">IL-2 Ultimate -> 1946 download -> 4.071</span>

The one thing you CAN'T do is apply the 4.071 patch straight over Ultimate.

If I understand you correctly, and you've now applied the 1946 pack over a porked Ultimate installation, it should start up as 4.07? If so apply the 4.071 patch and you're good to go.

Cheers, Spinner

unfortunately, I have applied the 4.071m patch over Ultimate, which caused my original download to not function. so then I bought and downloaded 1946, but things have gone haywire, my account with ubi is blanked, and I am pretty much screwed until I can get in touch with someone from their company. I have now bought both required versions, but am unable to install them both correctly because I am dealing with this BS from ubi's online account mistake.

yes I still have the Boonty Box, but I'm not sure things are working correctly. Will know more in about 10 mins as the 1946 pack is scheduled to be complete by then.
