I have been playing IL-2 FB/PF since it's inception, with no real freezing problems. Some infrequent stutter, but no freeze-ups. Single Missions, Quick Mission Builder, Pilot Career, etc. all worked fine. But now, I have a problem with Pilot Career...no problems with Single or Quick Missions, just freeze-up in Pilot Career.

When I fly the Leningrad missions in Pilot Career, the screen stutters and then freezes each time...and I get the following window message:

"NVOpenGLPbuffer:IL2fb.exe-Application Error:
The instruction at "0x5ed0530e" referenced memory at "0x0000051c". The memory could not be "read". Check OK to terminate programs."

I flew a number of missions to Leningrad before this freeze occurs...and have no idea what that message says or means...nor how to correct it. And why would this terminal freeze only occur in that only series of missions? Any help will be appreciated. I am not very "computer savvy", so please bear with me. Thanks.

That sounds to me like either bad memory or some 7x.xx nVidia drivers issues. I had some crashes due to newer nVidia drivers issues with game (iirc Guld Of Finland).
Try with 66.91 drivers to see if it works then.

My Nvidia driver is 61.77. Have had no problems until now.

My bet is heat. Open her up and clean the computer out. Check all fans/heatsinks for dust. Blow out all the cr@pola and test with the case off.
