Well I have been playing my very first career off and on since I have had the game.

The following takes place in early 1943

I got attacked by a PBY and I crashdived the PBY got me before I could get under water. No later than 5 mins or so later there were 8 to 9 PBY`s circling above me dropping bombs all around me. But I survive that attack with a destoryed starboard diesel engine, electric motor, and compressor. I desided to make my way there but to stay surfaced and not to dive unless necessary cause I couldnt get my compressed air up.

So on my way now I come across a V&W Destroyer and a Cruiser. I desided to launch my first torpedo at the cruiser and then launched a aft tube acoustic torpedo at the V&W. I ended up sinking both. I make it to my patrol grid I stay for 24 hours then I desided to head on up to Scapa Flow to see if there is any battleships or aircraft carriers or some big warships at anchor there. While on my way there I came across a Coastal merchant and a Victory Cargo ship. I proceeded to torpedo both of them sending them to the bottom. I am now regulated to a two torpedos left in the stern tubes. I desided to head back to brest to get repaired and then head to Scapa.

After spending three months there I am back out on the oceans and enroute to Scapa Flow. Enroute I come across this small convoy heading south. Since the convoy is moving south and its early 1943 and I have seen that the loading screen said that the Allies were in north africa I just knew these ships were going to supply the allies. I scoped out the small convoy and picked out three targets. I have not been detected by the four destoryers escorting the convoy so I use the element of suprise to take out the single troop transport in the group to limit re-enforcements in Africa. So I fired one electric torpedo set under the keel at the troop transport then launched three torpedos at a C2, C3, and small merchant. I ended up sinking the troop transport damaging the C2 and C3 and sinking the small merchant.

I broke off to reload my four forward torpedo tubes and contuned north to Scapa Flow. bout three hours later that night I encountered another small convoy heading south with four destroyers and about 10 or so ships including a Troop Transport. I did the same thing again. I launched one torpedo at the troop transport and launched the rest of my torpedos which were pattern runners I really did damage to that convoy. I sank two C2 cargoships, one Troop Transport and one destoryer with an electric torpedo.

The other torpedos I had stored in the Type VIIC Uboat all malfunctioned. Only one of the three aft acoustic torpedos worked. The other two the gyroscopes never worked they just launched and ran straight and never turned or homed. The other electric torpedos I launched detonated prematurely.

After this I headed back to my home base of Brest. Now my latest patrol is saved two days into the patrol. I left Brest and I just got out into open water when a PBY comes out of no wheres and dives on me. Doesnt drop a bomb or depth charges or anything just dives on me. I order the crew to man the two flak guns, and they were pretty good they got the PBY to smoke but couldnt shoot it down. I even tried myself and couldnt get any hits. But the PBY circled and dived on me 4 or 5 times without dropping bombs till I went from standard to flak speed and ordered periscope depth. Only then did the PBY drop bombs on me but they were too far aft. After that I went down to 50 meters and stayed there while a whole swarm of 9 PBY`s come in all in formation line and they start carpet bombing the water a good 1200 feet behind me. So as of now where the game is saved currently I am enroute to my patrol zone and the PBY`s have left back for england.

But I have to say though this carrer has been easy from 1939 till late 1942 then things started getting hard around the end of 1942 and now in June 7, 1943 when I saved the game it is starting to get deadly. I have thought I should have spent 1000 points and upgrade to a heavy flack emplacement. But I am at 11400 and want to save it so when the Type XXI comes out I can upgrade from the Type VIIC to the Type XXI

Anyways I hope all that read this enjoys the story.
