View Full Version : Focke-Wulf-Ta152H-1

Any plans to introduce Fw-Ta152H-1 (one 30mm + [4] 20mm cannons, more powerful engine, longer fuselage and other modifications), to the Il-2 Sturmovik series (FB or Battle of Britain)?

It'll just be like the D9, but faster, with a better armament... you can't lose.

guys guys guys....how often do you fly above 9 to 10km in
the il2 skys with its very strange high alt modell?

and how often will you run on the deck and in mid alt?...where any later 109 or 190d9 is faster than the
the H1 is useless untill an complete reworked high alt modell in IL2.

Seeing the way the Polikarpov fighters flies at high altitudes, we'll surely have netx dogs opposing I153 and Ta 152!!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Compared to the D-9 the Ta 152H is alot faster(except down low), it should climb better, have better firepower, and new to us 190 flyers,,, it can turn! Oleg says it will equal the La-7 at low alts. It's my expectations that it will outturn ANY other fighter at high altitudes. Its rollrate should be somewhat slower, but I see no problem with that as the snappy rollrate in the 190 has never offered me any benefits. It's more the other way around. The snappy rollrate makes the 190 very unstable.
I've seen numbers for the Ta 152H reaching 598km/h at sealevel, so it's fast enough for me. Up high it will reach 765km/h./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

If you take heed of annecdotes most of the Ta152Hs engagements were on the deck or at medium altitude where it didn't fair too badly.

Will it disappoint some, of course...

Will it be a disappointing ride at low and medium alt, not if believe the annecdotal evidence

Will it shine at high altitude, no since the high altitude modeling in FB doesn't offer the right enviorment.

Overal I think it will be an enjoyable although exotic ride...

Even if it's not the uber plane of the century, it's unlikely that it will perform less than the Dora does now. With that rumored 17 second turn rate and the definate 30mm cannon...it will be everything the Dora is and more.

"The Ta152H-1 only have 2 mg 151/20 (plus the motorkanonen MK108)" - Meyer JG52

There was additional prototype Fw Ta152H (Ra-2) that had an additional pair of MG 151s in the upper deck of the forward fuselage, including with 30-mm engine-mounted cannon and a pair of 20-mm MG 151 cannon in the wing roots. I was hoping the IL-2 Sturmovik development team would go with this one.

I think the Dora is the best plane out there right now, or at least I know how to fly it better than I do the rest...so I think the TA will be my exclusive ride in dog servers. For coops I am looking more forward to bf110 and Ju88, and hoping that santa will give me some real loadouts for my 190 F8

the TA152 C1 had 1 30mm in nose, 2 20mm in the top of engine and 2 20mm in wings... must have been one of the most heavily armed fighters of ww2... not many made, some what slower overall but more of a low level fighter, faster than h down low and had the shorter D wings...

12-03-2003, 03:37 AM
Yeah I think it was the engine as well as the long wings that made the Ta-152 a better plane. It has been described by pilots on both sides (I think the US got hold of a few post-war) as the ultimate piston-engined crate in the entire war. And if Willi Reschke is to be believed, it was a most excellent dogfighter on the deck... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

word is no ally fighters would risk attacking the Me262 airfields when Ta-152 were around. makes sense

-Cartoon muzzle flashes
-Maximum divespeed.
