Hey all,
I'm in the market for a 24 inch LCD Monitor (1920 X 1200) and currently I'm looking at a Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP Wide-Screen Black Flat Panel Monitor. 1000:1 contrast ratio, 6ms responce time.

But I need your opinions and your choices before I make my wallet cough up some serious cash for one.

Thanks in advance for your help all! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Lots of good reading in that forum. It helped me make my decision. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Recently got a ViewSonic 22" from Fry's. It was on sale for $320 and was just too difficult to pass up.

Keep in mind that the larger number of pixels (at 1900 X 1200) is going to slow down your frame rates unless you have a monster video card, like an 8800 (unless you choose to run at a lower resolution.)

I have two monitors and played IL2 9146 on both:

Gaming monitor: Olevia LCD 32" at resolution 1366x768. IL2 runs perfectly on this big screen and the immersion is unreal. I read that some people even play it on 36" & 42".

Work monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 244T at 1920x1200. The game at this display is awesome but it's very hard to detect the dots (Boogies) ONLINE or OFFLINE.

My opinions: since IL2 is designed for 1024x768, buy a large LCD HDTV (36" or more) because the immersion on big screen is absolutely awesome. Save your money until BOB/SOW is released and you will know what kind of monitor is best for it.

BTW, I have a GeForce 6800 Ultra and play IL2 @ 1920x1200 without any problem (no perfect water, all excellent setting).

There are some fairly inexpensive 26 to 32 inch TVs that are 1366x768 resolution with PC inputs that might work, especially if your gaming PC is in the living room.

Thanks fellas! I appreciate your inputs! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Video card should be no problem as I have a ATI Radon X1800XL Crossfire capable card and currently play with all settings maxed out. Runs very good and only notice studdering when I fly near big cities and/or extensive custom made airfields like I make. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
I should have said I DO have a budget set and must be something under $800.00. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The best 24" on the market is the BenQ Fp241WZ. None of the other 24" come close to this one. I did a ton of research recently when I got mine and theres problems with all of the 24" other than the BenQ. The only negative thing is BenQ's dead pixel return policy which I think is more than Dell.

42" Westinghouse LVM-42W2.

Got it at Best Buy in December, 2006 on clearance for $1,500.

Before that I used their 37" 1080P.

These giant widescreen LCDs have been the best PC gaming investment I ever made.

I've owned mine for about 1/2 a year. It's been perfect ever since I took it out of the box. I highly recommend the dell 2407wfp.
