View Full Version : Dead Rising Demo Up On Marketplace

08-04-2006, 10:36 AM
For all the 360 owners out there its up...

Microsoft and Capcom have released a Dead Rising demo (1014.61 MB), which is available now for download on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Dead Rising follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime.

In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to a small suburban town only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. He escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety but it turns out to be anything but. It will be a true struggle to survive the endless stream of enemies, but players will have full reign of a realistic shopping center, utilizing anything they find to fight off the flesh-hungry mob and search for the truth behind the horrendous epidemic.

This is gonna sound really ******ed, but do you actually need xbox live to download it? Can you just have an ethernet cable connected from your 360 to the modem?

You dont have to have a gold account wich means you can get it for free, do you have a gamer tag and are you set up? If so then ur ready to go, if not its really quick, just hit the guide button and go from there, you'll want to pick a silver account, its free. So yes, all you need is the ethernet cable hooked up.

Okay, so I hook up my xbox to my modem with an ethernet cable, and just get xbox live silver for free?

Yessir, thats it.

Well, after playing through the demo several times, I must say, this game is awesome! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif The variety of weapons is amazing, and the demo doesn't even have that much of the mall! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif It took me a little bit to get used to the controls, but once they sank in, it was fine. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I think that the demo is really cool, so be sure to check it out. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the review JB.

You're quite welcome. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I wish the demo would have had the hardware store, but alas, no chainsaw's in the demo. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I'll probably rent or buy the game though, so I'll be able to use that chainsaw. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

08-04-2006, 03:32 PM
Aww, no chainsaw. Well, what good/funny weapons does it have?

08-04-2006, 04:07 PM
It would be cool if they had a toothpick in there. You could use it to stab the bad guys in the eye. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, you start out with a scythe, a slegehammer, and a shotgun, so you actually start out pretty well armed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The bowling balls are fun to use too, as are the cash registers. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Plug an ethernet cable from either a router, or (If your parents will allow it) from a computer into the back of the Xbox 360, and then there ought to be an option to sign up for Xbox Live silver. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Btw, I checked the official Dead Rising website, and does anyone have any idea why it's rated for partial nudity? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

08-06-2006, 10:38 AM
I tried plugging it into my modem, but nothing pops up. And there is no ethernet port (or I don't see it) on the CPU.

08-06-2006, 02:09 PM
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's weird. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif I'm not really sure what to try now, maybe you should check xbox.com and see if they have anything that can help. Other than that, I'm not sure what to do.

08-06-2006, 05:17 PM
The partial nudity, is where a girl is naked, but has no niples are ******.

The demo was cool. I like the water gun, because it doesn't kill them, just make them walk backwards. The skateboard and shopping cart are fun too. I will be getting this game fo sho
