Hello, something I've been annoyed with since I've started playing an imperial japanese navy fighter pilot is the fact that whenever I get damaged or my fuel tanks get caught on fire, situations that under normal circumstances wouldn't be a big deal, the game does not let me bail out, and I am wondering, why is that the case? I mean, I try to play my campaigns as if I were really in the campaign, but I've been dying a lot more, seemingly unnecessarily, in situations that I could've simply just pulled the canopy back and bailed, sure I would need to shamefully say in my report that I let the white barbarian destroy one of the emperor's a6m2's, but it's better than disappearing in a very large splash. So, what can I do?

P.S. As a side note, and I'm not going to make a big deal out of it, but is there anything I can do to make the loading times on dynamic campaigns shorter?

Most Japanese pilots considered parachutes as an offense to their bravery and determination, and their commands often discouraged their use.

The game just reflects this as a difficulty option, accesible thru file edition.

do you know where I put that line in order to parachute? Because I put it under game and I still couldn't bail out.

There is another thing that probably needs to be changed. The mission builder can set any aircraft to not have parachutes. This may be set in the campaign you are playing and you will need to change the aircraft setting for you to bail out.

User-made campaign:
You will need to open each mission and change ALL the planes to have parachutes that are in the squadron you are flying for. It will take to long to explain why you have to do this, but trust me, you wll have to do it.

Game generated campaign:
There is a master mission file somewhere and you will need to change all of the aircraft in this file. Sorry, but I'm not sure where to find this file.

Not so much. Land based IJN airgroups would often discard parachutes on VRL (very-long-range) missions to save weight (extend range), and many Japanese would prefer to ride their planes in rather than bail out over an enemy position, but when their was a reasonable chance that they could be picked up by friendly forces, Japanese bailed out just like everyone else. The idea that IJN pilots did not were parachutes stems mainly from the examples of the VRL missions of units such as Tainan and 3rd Kokutai and the later war Kamikaze pilots.
