If it's a one-click affair to install the entire series + patches, I'll buy it.

Then I'll sell my all individual IL2 game disks to my buddy for $20, let him install them, then blow him out of the sky the very nanosecond he goes online. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Does anyone know if it includes patch 404?

I don't know if "...spanning the entire globe..." was the most prudent thing to say in that announcement. Of course, we all know better, but what about the poor joe who's just seeing this for the first time, and decides he wants to fly F4s and SBDs off Guadacanal?

I'm definitely game for the DVD. Besides, I hope it includes some other goodies that we haven't received in the patches, but that is just a hope...

A dynamic campaign system creating endless varieties of missions in dozens of campaign scenarios.

We all know better, but that is just misleading, especially to those new to the series.

This is also misleading:
Free servers all over the world offering exhilarating multiplayer experience: up to 128 players on 29 online maps.

128 PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!! Where is "that" server?

I don't know if it includes 4.04, but would be inclined to think that it does. My questions are:

1. Will it be compatible with all other 'merged' versions?

2. Will there be any DVD-specific content on it?

I'll get one either way (it will be nice to have it all in a nice, neat 1 disk package), but look forward more to the "short-to-follow" PE-2 expansion. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Actually, it IS a dynamic campaign, as aircraft do change depending on what you do, pilot skills go up and down and even destroyed ground objects are tracked, this is with the West/Easterrn front - of course this not TRULY dynamic as the war ends the same every time.

But if you look at Pacific Fighters, the war can end in yours or the enemie`s favour depending on how you set the campaign difficulty parameters, so that`s dynamic. So no lie there. A pity they never bothered to put it to the Eastern front.

I am glad they`ve not mentioned AI, cos if it`s 4.04 then AI may as well not be spoken about... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

So let`s not get too negative, eh, diabloblanco1 ?

It is very interesting how telling the truth here always gets labeled "negative".

Ok, my bad, time to clarify. "Endless varieties of missions", is misleading IMHO. You really get the same types of missions(fighter sweep, bomber escort, bombing mission, transfer to another field(not really a mission), and recon.

Maybe I'm just bias against the pathetic campaign and mission building aspects of this sim compared to others even a decade old, sorry. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Actually, that part has always annoyed me in Pacific Fighters. There is no way one pilot or one squadron was going to change the outcome, even if every pilot in that squadron combined all the best attributes of Saki, Bong, McCampbell, Thach,. McClusky, and Fuchida.

Over 200 flyable planes.I counted only 197.Which ones did I miss?

I wonder if the dvd will have region codes.

We have had enough of the above concerning SF and I am asking those that wish to discuss it at this time, please do it in a game forum where that copy protection is in use. We simply aren't having it here for now.

My PTs are open 24/7.

But you can also edit the very settings so your little flight can`t affect the overall campaign at all or barely...
