View Full Version : Sloop Tanks going dormant and getting stuck

I've been having some trouble with outlaw sloop tanks sometimes just getting stuck when switching between the first and final phases of combat. Here are some examples from yesterday and today.

On Kirite, four allies and I take on a sloop tank. All is going normally until the transition to the final phase. The sloop tank sheds its armor (is that normal) and then just stops fighting. It does still object if you crowd it, and it occasionally lobs a mine, but that's it.


Here we see it sitting passively, then suddenly the game acts as if the sloop tank has been defeated. Yet clearly, it hasn't.


And just for fun, a nomadon starts pushing the sloop tank around.


Here's another instance, on Sonatus, where the sloop tank got itself stuck.

Hello again Auld_Jack :) I'm sorry to hear that you were experiencing these issues when facing off against outlaw sloop tanks.

I've not been able to find any reported issues with the tanks and their halted movement as here, though looking online, I do see a few different threads / sites mentioning difficulties with destroying them, that required a different approach to be taken when tackling them. Do you know of anyone else to be having the same issues as yourself?

In terms of defeating the tanks, have you tried any alternative strategies, such as ramming or using different weapon types? Also, have you encountered any similar issues with any other enemy ships / variants?

Sorry for the delay... just got back from a long vacation.

Let me clarify there are two different issues here. In one case, the sloop tank gets stuck on some environmental obstacle and quits attacking. In the other case, for no apparent reason the sloop tank simply stops doing anything except launching mines, and more problematically, it no longer sustains any damage from any kind of attack.

If a sloop tank gets stuck, it quits launching homing mines and "overcharging" the main gun. That makes it invulnerable to the usual tactics. I can eventually defeat it by pummeling its gun using conventional weapons, although that can take a while. (On the upside, the sloop tank isn't attacking any longer, and it also isn't moving around.)

When a sloop tank goes dormant, it becomes undefeatable. Even pummeling its gun has no effect, nor does hitting it with homing mines (which it can still launch). The workaround for this is to fly far enough away to cause the sloop tank to respawn when you return to the area.
