View Full Version : OT : Tuddley Hospitalized !!! Das Boot saves the day

I am ok, but had a bit of trouble with the old Gallbladder getting stuffed with stones. So I ended up in the Emergency Room last Wednesday afternoon.

But, something happened that made my first few hours a little more pleasant. After my first 3 hours of agony, I realized a small TV above my head. So I pulled it down, searched through 29 of 30 channels, and found nothing to watch. Out of anger http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif, I switched to the last channel I have not inspected yet, and OMG, I ended up on AMC(American Movie Classics) channel, and you would not believe what was playing.

Even though I was in severe pain, the greatest Sub movie made me relax a little until I had to go under the knife.

My best regards to speedy recovery.

From Paramedic class: Ice tea, as they tend to drink in the South (USA), may be a cause of increased incidences of Gall stones.

Get well, friend.

Hope you feel better soon. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I bet watching das Boot speeds up your recovery. Everything not as worse as crashing down to Gibraltar seafloor. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Get well buddy, my Mom had that some years ago. Not fun.

When I broke my wrist in February I was also in the hospital and the evening after the surgery ... I also saw Das Boot!!! What's more my neighbour, this older fellow was a big fan of subs and had a book about Auguste Picard the guy who built the bathyscape!! So it really helped to get over the pain.

Get well soon.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

You should try Kidney Stones http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
How many times I walked into the doctors rooms, all bent over, doubling up, sweating and shaking, and demanding Morphine (it's the only thing that worked).
The people in the queue got grumpy (gave them the bird) and the doctor looked at me with one beady eye. He got used to me after a while.

We worked out that it was those winter vitamin-C tablets I was taking. The damm 'C' stood for 'Calcium overload'. Never had a stone since I stopped taking them.

Oh man, I know that pain! Stones!
I would much rather drop another flywheel on my finger and have to drill through my fingernail again with a fine bit to relive the blood pressure. Actually once my doctor used a red-hot paper clip and just burned through it.

Anyone for a finger in a door?

EEEch .. sorry man, get well soon!

Thanks everyone, it's this kind of brotherhood(and sisterhood"Liddabit") That keeps me coming back here, we are such a family here.

I am feeling much better, and will be back to normal Friday when I get my staples removed. Damn things feel like a kitty cat with it claws stuck in my gut, but I got good drugs, but they make me sleep all day.

If anyone sees my ship in the pen, make sure Bernard stays off my boat until I can return to duty.

@ Kaleun1961, I was screaming in just about every language I could think of, and not nice words.

@ BR, Thanks bro, even if it was some other kind of "Booty", I was in so much pain, I couldnt care less, but it didn't keep me from flirting with the nurses.

@ Carotio, maybe I'll feel as happy as the Wolf in the TA signature once I'm pain free, thanks Boss.

@ gsc67, I am ready for this months 4th Flotilla patrol, I hope Fritz is easy on me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

@ Danurve, My pain was alot like that, but was more like a steady pain, not a come and go type pain. Think of having a door slammed on your finger over and over for 24hours straight. Thank God it's over!!!

08-07-2007, 07:00 AM

I hope you get through this quickly! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I had a bout with kidney stones a few years back; .....so I feel your pain!

08-08-2007, 06:10 AM
All the very best to you Tuddley3 and I wish you a speedy recovery!
Hey common Big Guy pull through we need a good engineer sometimes to help the guys on U301!

08-09-2007, 06:52 AM
Friday will be a good day !!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I get my staples removed http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif These darn things feel like a kitty is clinging to my belly with it claws buried in me.

Then I will need to try to remember where I hid my bottle of Jack from Bernard while I was on shore leave. Then it's off to visit the boys on U301 for a party http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

I had the same op. several years ago, and can
feel your pain (unlike our previous President)
and believe it or not, you'll be walking
around by nightfall. You should be more
worried about Socko stealing your boat and
heading for the high seas sans a skipper!
Get well soon!

08-10-2007, 08:35 PM
http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gifOh no, don't talk about Socko, I place him a close second to Bernard, but Socko has more balls than Bernard. As long as the BdU can keep Socko under control, I think I can trust him with my boat, just ask Klcarrol, he should agree http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

But my staples are out, and all I have is itching, and I have to be careful of scratching those itches. Other than that, I think I am back to the dirty Ole Captain I was before http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Speaking about bernard... i watched this movie like a whole lots of months ago and i LMAO but lost it and i found it again lol

The Good, The Bad, And Bernard (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4tGNI_UcHDQ) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I love it...

Anyhow get well soon! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

IMHO that is the greatest SH3 movie made. There are a few more Bernard inspired movies made by fellow member Stabiz.
