Im flying this game on my sisters crappy Dell, and i remember a long time ago hearing Dells cannot have a video card stuck into it. I dont need advice on upgrades dont worry. just need to know if this stupid machine can take a vid card or not. the processor is pretty good, i just need raw gfx power now, and i will be good to fly online full time!

Can anyone help? Its a Dell dimension C521. Anyone know anything about the mobo? Really just need to know if i can put a gfx card into this machine. or even where i can get a full detail/specsheet on this machine.

thanks guys.

Did you try the Dell website? I got a Dell and upgraded my card once so I don't know where you heard you can't put graphic cards in Dells.

Im going back quite a few years i think i heard this http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now i need suggestions for a half sized vid card but with good power to run this beautiful game on perfect like my old 6800 did.

You could try this dan:

Or try googling Half-Height Graphic Cards or similar.

There does not seem to be a great deal of choice though, and of course it depends on if you have an AGP or PCI-e slot to put one in. I reckon Nvidia or ATI must do a few, will keep looking.

Sometimes you can specify a low profile back plate:

ask for Low profile back plate available code (A05HA)

yes been looking at this site

http://www.directron.com/lowprofile.html

it seems you must buy the plate seperately in most cases. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif why am i surprised. but at leasst there are half decent half sized cards out there.

I would imagine a regular graphics card should fit into that case. Graphics cards are relatively long not wide. Just guessing mind you.

The dell E 521 needs a low profile pci-e X16 video card.Newegg lists over 70 low profile cards.Just go to Newegg and search low profile video card.Check the power supply ratings on the cards you choose.I beleive the C21 has a 305watt power supply, but I'm not sure.
